Little Johnny
One day Little Johnny heard a noise and peeked into his parents room to check it out. He opened the door to see his mom bent over the dresser and dad going at it behind her. Johnny's dad saw him and gave him a little wink as Johnny closed the door. After business was finished Dad went to check on little Johnny. He opened his bedroom door to find Grandma bent over the dresser and little Johnny going at it behind her. Dad yelled, "Johnny, what the hell are you doing?!" Little Johnny replied, "It's not so funny when it’s your mom, is it?!"

Libre's for sale in Canada
I got them here in Fla. from a friend who bought a 77 280 from Va. with them on, and he wasn't too thrilled with the look. I said I would buy them from him, and he bought some new 17" wheels to put on the car. He needed room in his garage, so he gave me the wheels to clean up in the meantime. We are still discussing price.

Libre's for sale in Canada
Is there any surefire way to tell the difference between the aluminum and magnesium wheels? I have (ahem) acquired a set of these and need to get them clean before a deal is finalized. There is a lot of 'baked on' black stuff like brake dust on them. I am thinking of getting them media blasted; but would not want to ruin them if they are made from a material that won't tolerate that. Two are marked American Racing Equipment and the other two have what looks like a small peace sign cast inti the backside of the rim.

sickening
I have a Japanese battle flag that I occasionally drape over my open hood at shows. Have caught some comments about it but nothing overt. I am just displaying my cars heritage, not making a political statement. I also had a boss many yrs. ago (over 30) that drove a Toyota. The rear bumper had nothing but USMC stickers on it. He was definitely a WW II vet. Letting bygones be bygones.

rear view mirror
Is there any way to tighten up the swivel of an interior mirror? I got a brand new one from a friend, and its flopping around. Can't see any way to tighten or adjust it.

Do You Text while Driving?
I am going to resist the urge to get on my soapbox with this topic. However...I have a magnetic sign I made for the tailgate of my truck that reads,'Guns don't kill people, drivers with cellphones do,. I also have a mirror-image printed sign that hangs from my pass. visor that says 'Get the F**K off the phone, A$$hole!; so they can read it IF they look in the mirror. What did y'all do before they invented this scourge on humanity?

seat belt question
If you don't have retractable shoulder belts, don't use them. I can't drive with those things on. Can't even reach the heater controls, etc.

Sweet story: Guy reminisces over Z
I know a Z owner here in Fla. that purchased a Z new in '70. He got sent back for another tour in S.E. Asia, and sold the 'new' car to a buddy. Cut to now. He and his son travel to Cali to check out a truck project; and look up this old buddy. Turns out, he still had the Z, in original shape and unmolested. He sold it back to the original owner for the same price, and the guy drove it home to Fla. It is now being freshened with all O.E.M. pieces and looks as good as ever. My best Z story.

Nissan says: what's a 280z?
I once drove my '71 to a local dealer, just to kind of show it off. First salesman out the door asked me if I wanted to trade it in. Another fairly young guy came out and asked another salesman 'Did we make that?' However, my closest dealer is pretty knowledgeable about the 240 and can usually get an available part.

post your joke of the day!
1. Why don't sharks eat lawyers? Professional courtesy. 2. What is the difference between a rooster and a lawyer? A rooster gets up in the morning and 'clucks defiance'..... Sorry. Couldn't resist. So sue me.

post your joke of the day!
A chicken farmer went into a local tavern and took a seat at the bar next to a woman patron and orders a glass of champagne. The woman perks up and says, "How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too!" He turned to her and said, "What a coincidence. This is a special day for me. I'm celebrating." "This is a special day for me, too, and I'm also celebrating!," says the woman. "What a coincidence," says the man. They clinked glasses and he asked, "What are you celebrating?" "My husband and I have been trying to have a child. Today, my gynecologist told me I'm pregnant!" "What a coincidence," says the man. "I'm a chicken farmer. For years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally fertile." "That's great!" says the woman, "how did your chickens become fertile?" " I switched cocks," he replied. "What a coincidence," she said

Some triple Weber pics
Seems to be a lot of triple carb questions lately. Here are some pics of my Weber set-up and hand-made linkage. I am by no means a machinist, but I had access to some hard aircraft aluminum (7075), a bandsaw and a grinding disc to get the shape I wanted. The linkage rod is 5/16 stainless rod with the stock Z U-bracket welded on the end, so I could use the stock setup from the firewall. The uprights and links to the throttle plates are Heim joints from a local speed shop.
