How can I find a 240Z to look at/drive in Tampa?
Hey all, Thanks for all your help. I drove my first 240Z on Monday. In a word, WOW! I drove a stock '72 with a 5 speed manual transmission. I didn't think it would have as much power. I drove it mostly on busy straight streets, but still got a great feel for the car. I do fit in it (I'm 6'4"). No problem with legroom. When I lean all the way back, the top of my head does hit the rectangular beam above the hatch. I can probably put the seat forward a few notches and be fine. Now I just have to sell my wife on getting one in a few years... Is the Z picnic at Ft. Desoto (Florida) set for April 8th? I hope not-we're going to a wedding that day! I'm really looking forward to seeing a bunch of Zs and meeting the Suncoast Z club members. -Greg

Mike Hunt-good one. Is he related to Seymour Butts? O.K., my real name is Greg. I did find the Tampa Z club and hope to take a Z out for a drive soon. -Greg

Is a 240Z for me?
I'm trying to find some I can hopefully drive or at least sit in. I just discovered the Suncoast Z Club in Tampa, so I may get lucky. I do remember riding in a 260Z that had plenty of room. If only the Zs had a convertible or targa top! Thanks.

SJGreen71, Thanks for the steer to the 1600/2000 roadster. Any other roadster/convertibles you can recommend for tall drivers? I wish I had $30K plus laying around to get a Austin Healey 3000; those cars are beautiful!

How can I find a 240Z to look at/drive in Tampa?
Thanks to those who responded to my earlier thread. After reading your replies, it sounds like a 240Z is a good tall man's car. Can anyone recommend any publications that list 240Zs for sale in the Tampa area? I haven't had much luck so far with internet searches. I'd like to go drive one. I'm not in the market right now, I'm just trying to narrow down which car will be my mid-life crisis, You know what I'm saying? -G

Is a 240Z for me?
Hey everybody, I'm new here and just starting to get interested in Vintage sports cars. I'm wondering if you can help me find one I fit in. I'm 6'4" and find many sports cars don't fit. Yesterday, I tired to squeeze into a 1974 TR6. I had good headroom, but there is no way I could drive that car as my knees were eating dash. Are the 240 Zs any better re legroom for tall drivers? Any other sports cars you can suggest that accomodate tall drivers? I'm looking for an entry level vintage sports car to purchase in the future. I like what I see and read about the 1965-1975 Porsche 911, 1969-1973 TR6 and 1970-1973 240Z. I think the wife would freak if I put down more than $15K initially, and I want one in good-excellent condition. Any ideas? Thanks! Regards, Stetch Armstrong
