HLS30-01121 Gets A New Life
I am interested in your project. I am retired Navy, still work for the Navy in Coronado. I have 3 Z projects going, one is a series 1 VIN 2675. That one along with my 71, are at a shop in Santee getting paint and body. My 71 should be blue by mid month. The 70 should be yellow by April. We have found that the 70 totally and correctly restored has the most value. We started with a shell with the 70, your starting point is so much better. My body guy is awesome he does all the work for Classic Datsun now, he has painted iconic race cars as well, a few are owned by the Ace man. Collecting the series 1 parts is a labor of love that is for sure. Got lucky on CL by finding a 71 Oct 70 build date in Jumal , it came with lots of great parts. It is at the shop about to be parted down. My friend Motorman7 is also very knowledable with the series 1 cars as he has a beautiful example of one in the same color as yours. Looking forward to seeing what your next move is. Send me an email I will introduce you to my guy and show some of the other Zs that are there. He is an expert on floors and framerails. Passing of Abraham DeGalicia (Motorsport Auto)
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the loss of one of our own. Abraham DeGalicia passed away Sunday, August 2nd from complications brought on by liver cancer. Abe began working for Motorsport in 1999. Many knew him as the helpful voice on the other end of the phone. Some of you had the privilege of meeting him in person at our store or during the Z-Car West Coast Nationals. Abraham worked at MSA which is a sponsor of this site; He was a great guy and a friend to me. A humble and private man too; he never let on that he was battling cancer. I will miss him. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/Abe

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Finally put on my headlight upgrade on my 73. I bought it at Motorsport in April during the Zbash, finally got around to putting it last night. I want to upgrade the dash lights next. A wonderful kit. We also fixed a cracked fuel line from the tank to the electric fuel pump. That went well too. Nice to no longer be a cigarette away from being a bomb.

Datsun Parts LLC - gone to the dark side?
Al, I have meet you, talked with you....you had a great time at the convention last August in San Diego, I heard nothing negative about you at the convention, so I am going to take you at your word. We all have business transactions where someone feels like they are not getting what they pay for or want more than you can provide. I wish you the best in your business; and hopefully some guys take you up on your offer.

Zcon judging rules
The trend across the country in many shows including Concourse shows is Survivor class vehicles. I am not sure why ZCCA was not come into the current times: they need to have a survivor class....a car is only original once.

Fantastic Appraisal
Wow that is impressive. I am doing a 71 Blue on Blue right now. I am doing it complete but not a restorage but more of a refresh to a resto-mod. It will have a top notch paint job and all new blue interior, When the car is done is will go up for sale I am hoping for $13 to $15K.

Datsun Parts LLC - gone to the dark side?
I too was surprised that the Wheeler Dealers did not use MSA. Al Allen was at our convention last year, he was really a nice guy and I had no idea about his business or feedback on his business. I guess I should do some research here on the page to find out.

Wheeler Dealers 240Z
I love my automatic for surburban driving...if I am going on a canyon run or something I will drive the Roadster; but I will not drive the roadster for suburban driving...if that makes sense. I do believe that Nissan's goal was to make the Z a personal GT car; a good question to ask Matsuo-san some day.

Butterscotch Seat Covers Available Again!
I heard that his interior supplier moved operations to Mexico and that the quality of products is no longer up to snuff. I am not sure he wants to sell the things anymore. Have you called him?

Just ordered my BC coilovers
My buddy got a set; they are awesome, such an easy install. The car also is without motor too, ready for paint so I have not be able to review how will they work. Never heard of them until my buddy showed me his,

Wheeler Dealers 240Z
I watched the British premier of the show on YouTube the other day. It was good but, not the way I would have done the car. To be honest I was not impressed with it; I love the show but the Z or the annoying Zedd word as they call it was a disappointment.

Looks to me like a Jay at Jdm-car-parts nailed it once again. He is such a perfectionist.

So is it a "Crackin Motor"? I saw a Facebook video with Mike talking about his California workshop. I guess this car was done by Ed in this shop.

Z Myths Busted
A Datsun was named so because they were importing the cars to American and needed a name quickly, the president of the company said in broken english "Dat soon?" and the name Datsun was created. Or something like that... :: Or more a Z myth: The fumes are on purpose to keep her from wanting to ride along, giving you freedom to drive as fast and as hard as you want.
