  1. To me the greatist thing in your restoration is that you kept your Z:s outer appearense original. And I like the colour, too.
  2. My English teacher is from Birmingham. He married a Finnish girl about 15 years ago...
  3. Tail lights are European style, rear side marker lights are missing - front are yellow. Bumper guards, radio and emission "things" from the engine are missing, too. But there is 5-speed transmission, rear sway bar, splash guard and feet rest...
  4. That is my car! My car was brought to Finland in July 1972 and it's so called "Original Finnish Car" and differs a little of those in USA.
  5. Your prices are low! I paid 480 euros (about 690 USD) to recrome my Z:s rear. Might be cheaper in neighbouring countries like Russia and Estonia... (front needs to be recromed)
  6. I'm surprised, too. That few 240Z Datsuns in Britain! In my tiny country there is about the same amount of S30Z's - but Finland has a tradition to be a Datsun's testing market in Europe even from early 60's.

Where in Ireland do you live? Had once a backpack tour around Ireland with my wife. Do you have many 240Z-280Z:s in there?

It is! And I had my best bacheloryears tans in Sharlottelund? camping in Kopenhagen...
  13. Just use "normal" petrol - in Finland - in my 240Z it´s 95E. From Z-Datsun to more modern car - the same.

In my original european 240Z -72 the gauge goes only up to 240 km/h. By the way - I have used CorelDraw in my professional work over 20 years and - IMO - it beats Illustrator...

Hello jerz and welcome to the forum. My Finnish 240Z-72 had indicator lights like yours but I moved them UNDER the bumper. To me they look better there...

Must be quite a mixture that 50/50! Never tried. Probably more favorit near our Russian (=eastern) borderROFL. About keeping warm - in London there is now 10-20 cm snow and propably colder than here (-0,6 C). We have triple glazing and thick walls:D My Zed unfortunately stays over winter in a cold carage:cry:

Ipraun, nice to meet a Scandinavian on the forum! Keep on going your project.

There are more Z's than "a few" in Europe. Even here in Finland you can find at least 30-40 S30 Z-cars.

That sausage is a great Delicacy especially in Tampere area. It should be "factory fresh" and with lingonberry mash... Lake; sorry to "steal" your thread.
  20. European 1972-models all had rear sway bar, didn´t they? At least my original Finnish -72 model has this thing...

Yes, number 5 in Monte Carlo in 1972. They were third that year. Your 240Z has exactly the same look as Rauno´s, hasn't it? How about inside? You have your names in the fenders in Japanese, too!

I didn't say they were fastest 240Z because I knew that those Norwegians were faster but to know that this was Pietilä/Heikkilä´s first Monte Carlo Rally so the result was good. About my countrymen - there was Rauno Aaltonen who in 70's drove 240Z in Monte (co-driver Jean Todt) and in Safari very succesfully.

Yes, the historic. There are usually many 240Z:s in Monte´s historic competition, two years ago a Finnsh couple, too. The were very fast...

And next spring to Monte Carlo?
  25. Paint - as Arne said - the front grille and the rear panels with the same colour: factory dark grey ("70% black").
