Just picked up my 2nd '78 280z
There are pluses and minuses from each car. I believe the red car might have more rust since It has been sitting outside for years and my silver car has been garaged for the last 18. But we'll see when the tear down starts today! Also the red car has no title and no key. Ian, I don't think the gas cap from the 77-78 cars will fit a 71.

Just picked up my 2nd '78 280z
Going to strip it down to the bone this weekend, anyone interested in helping out for FREE BEER & PIZZA? Send me a PM. Found it off craig's list listed for $400, but the guy needed to sell asap so I got it for $250! Unfortunatly I am going to use it as a parts car. The two doors and hatch have very minor surface rust which I am take off and put on my 'silver' Z. Interior seats have no tears. I hope the engine and tranny are good too. Eventually, I will gather a list of parts I will not need and will offer up for sale.

Will this real body panel from a '75 fit my '78?
Micheal, the guy who has the part said: "1977 thru to 1978 aren't same structure from 1975. All of those structure from the luggage and tire holder size has been slight change. You'll need to find those model Z from 1977 thru to 1978." So, i guess i'll keep looking.

upper rear panel body replacement piece
the previous owner of my Z tried to repair my upper rear panel and it won't suffice for my restoration project, so I am looking for a replacement piece for my 78. I have only found a new one on MSA for a 240 and it is more than I want to spent, but says it can work on a 280... not so sure about that. 1. Will the MSA one fit well on a 280? 2. What other places sell them? 3. Know of any good parts cars with decent one? 4. Will you give/sell me yours off your car?

Fire Extinguishers: Why we should all have them
Did you get a fire extinguisher approved for car use? My mother's friend had one explode in her car during summer from the heat. Don't want to ruin a car that way!!

our beloved Z, is it becoming better or worse?
I also perfer Gen 1 Z's, as I am sure many of us do on here. Besides the plastic on the 350Z, I think it's better than the gen 2s and 3s. So In my opinion Zs have gone from Good to worse to a little bit better. I hope Nissan does the next Gen Zs with more classic style!

What is your car's nickname?
My Z doesn't have a name yet, I don't want to name her until I finally get to turn the key and hear her roar for the first time... just doesn't seem right to name her without knowing her personality. I am curious to know what all you out there name your Z cars?

Just bought my first Z!
AutoSport Fab is moving to Colchester to a larger facility soon. His name is Peej410 on Hybridz. (He isn't on this forum much) If you need some service give him a call or email. He is investing in more equiptment too.

'78 280z in Connecticut
I live 20 mins from Danbury! I am still in the process of disassembly, but have cleaned up many of the parts I am going to re-use and got my first shipment of new parts. I've been to Z-Doc's in Tampa. My uncle worked there for 6 years.

Pete and I with my Z in the background
I am not wearing any lipstick, or any make-up at all. Pete and I both have Z's and love to work on them together!

Z car parts includes Tokico Spring & Shocks
I am going to do the steering and suspension all at once replacing a good deal of it. Thanks for letting me know where to start. Pete (my partner in Z crime) says "get a floating caliper assembly for the front similar to a 4th gen Maxima, but I am sure how they would adapt but they would look very similar"
