Just discovered this [there was a link posted on HybridZ]. Love technology!
  2. Not to hijack this thread but I am the person who [now news to me] wing was purchasing the 'red stripe' from. I had purchased a 71 240 to restore with my children [a father-son-daughter] project which came with old Ansa tips. During the restoration process I took the tips to a vendor I use to make vinyl decals to have them reproduced so we could renew the tips. We had to run through a few prototypes and some web search but believe we have got them right. The project is nearly complete [after 4 years] and was a great tiime to be had with my kids, now 15 & 17. I stopped selling the decal sets on ebay as their fees [between listing, selling & paypal] were eating too far into the small amount i was making for the effort]. I still have them available if anyone is interested. $20 gets you 2 of the Ansa shield decals and 2 red stripes to wrap the pipe with. If interested feel free to email me at; palermodavid13@gmail dot com. Thanks, David Palermo

    Subscribed, what an awesome thread!
  4. popped my cd rom into the pc today and was unable to navigate it as in the past. my os is windows xp and am running adobe acrobat v9.1.0. i tried to use the 'disable plug-in' instructions but they differ greatly between the old and current version of acrobat. was able to access only a few of the thousands of pages, not certain what to do. so, anyone out there know what i can do to restore my ability to use the cdrom?

7t1240, i got you covered! dave c., thanks for the promo. to all whom are interested i contracted a local graphic design artist and graphic shop to produce a facsimile of our metal and plastic z emblems. they come in two flavors, chrome effect and black & white. see the link for the photos [side by side with actual emblems]. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/92784-s30-z-emblems-in-vinyl/page__p__875624__fromsearch__1#entry875624 the emblems i had reproduced are; hood badge, fender badges ['datsun script' and f'airlady z' as well as the '432' moniker], series 1 'b pillar' badge and for the hatch 'datsun and 240z'. i can also run custom larger sizes as most of the graphics were designed at a high resolution, contact me for pricing. reasonably priced at just $5 each, significantly less than oe badges. in fact, you could 'emblem' your z with my vinyl decals for less than the price of one oe elblem! please feel free to contact me directly for additional info if needed. many thanks
  7. shipped the remaining pre-ordered dovetails this morning [albeit a week behind schedule...] and wanted to say thanks to all of you who participated in the [hybridz] group buy! this group buy is not limited by a large manufacturer or me ordering in any certain quantity, so if you are interested in a pair they will continued to be offered as long as there is demand. thanks, david
  8. picked up the first pair of dovetails this morning along with the ss mounting hardware and will ship them tomorrow. he hopes to have the others that are preordered completed this saturday. thanks for your patience for this order!
  9. update-the parts that were at the plater were...ruined. they bake springs after the plating process [if you understand mettalurgy then please explain it to the rest of us] and baked these-subsequently melted the plastic pieces that act against the spring. so, the 8 pair i had are no longer usable, i'm bummed!
  10. quick update to this group buy. we are about 10 days behind with the production-small shop but the big jobs have priority. anyway, should be ready to ship the currently paid orders middle-end of next week. thanks for your patience. if you have already placed/paid your order, it is not too late to add another set - if you so desire. thanks, david
  11. i contacted msa this morning to inquire about availability of the part-which they call a 'door stopper'. last time in their inventory was 2007, priced at $21-each. now they are no longer available. bummer, i can't imagine how many i have thrown away. i will, however, have a few pair available once i get what i do have replated.
  12. i have the latch side as well if you are interested. going to the plater next week and will be ready in about 2 weeks [shoot me an email if you'd like, they are not expensive].
  13. in your pic on the left there are two lonesome holes, that is exactly where the dovetail would make itself home!

few cars he didn't have numbers for, they're in there]. wow, do the z's look cool in the 'studio'! in my conversation with steve [photo guy] we discussed his ability to do limited custom work. on my first auto-x run i came into the 'u-turn' a tad bit too hot and basically drifted thru the corner. he captured it holding down the shutter and took about 9 pics. i'm thinking about a single pic with each of the images laid out to create a stepped look of me going thru the corner. the cd's are available, all images on them, sans studio shots. images are a lower resolution, no watermark, suitable for printing your own pics up to a 5x7. any larger and they will begin to distort. so, there you have it! any questions, contact steve directly-his info is all on his website.

had a great time at the daytona convention, thanks to all who worked their tails off to make it happen! here's a link to the pics from the pro photographers they hired to shoot the event. cd's available for purchase and the very cool 'studio' shots will be posted by monday! they are the same bunch who shot our convention in 2005! http://www.highlanddesignstudio.com/motorsport/Zcon07/Zcon07-home.html
  16. mally002, very nice find. for your seats and interior vinyl, consider the source for other retailers; http://seatzmfg.com/seatz/index.htm

i'll be there. few of us are heading up from rochester [ny] saturday morning.
  18. back in 1991 i was stationed at corpus christi naval air station i used to 'frequent' cabiness. as an aviator i was privy to flight schedules and used that info to head to cabiness field when i had the chance and needed to 'tune my z'. i'd drive up to the gate, get a quick salute from the guard and inform them i was checking out the runways. they'd usually smile, say 'yes sir' and wave me through. i'd make my own course using the taxiways and both the runways [they form an X for those who haven't been there]. it was an absolute blast and i had it all to my self. when i'd leave, the usual question was 'how'd they check out' or 'have a good time?'.
