I'm in the process of tearing down my 73Z project car, and decided to make all new brake and fuel lines now. To save some money and not have to piece several pieces together, I decided to buy 25" rolls of tubing. I wanted to start with straight tube so I looked in to buying a line straightening tool. Well they wanted $100 for one and that was more than I was willing to pay, so I made one. This will work on 3/16, 1/4 or 5/16. It cost me $15 to make. Attached is a picture of it. If there are others interested in making one of these, let me know. If there's enough interest, I'll write up detailed instructions on how to build one. Paul (zbeemer)

My old brake lines from the banjo bolt fitting to the metal brake line at my front calipers are being replaced and I ran into this problem. At the banjo end the threading is M10-1.0 male while the end of my new line is a M10-1.0 female. The brakes are a four piston design so I'm assuming it's a Toyota upgrade. The new brake line is a Centric 150.42010 from Rock Auto. Did the Toyota caliper take a different flexible brake line than the stock 260z brake caliper? thanks

Hi all, Had a setback recently with brakes. I have installed: new hoses, hard lines at the drumps, pads, rotors, calipers, rebuilt the drums, and a new master cylinder. I have bled brakes before and as usual started with the furthest from the master cylinder (start with the rear left, then rear right, front right, front left). My issue is starting with the rear right, I'm not getting any fluid to pump from the master cylinder to the bleeder. Even when completely disconnected this doesn't work. I am assuming that I have a blockage in the hard lines and wanted some advice on clearing it. I am using the old school method of pumping the pedal and want to know if investing in a pressure bleeder might work or if I'm missing something altogether. I DID bleed the master cylinder without issue. Chris

I had to replace the floors and frame rails on my 280z due to some pretty severe rust issues. In the process most of the mounting brackets for the brake and gas lines went away. Is anyone aware of somewhere I can source a generic mounting system. I can weld brakets on easily enough but I want something that is rubber lined similar to the original configuration. Any help would be much appreciated. I've been searching for quite a while and must not have hit on the right combination of key words.

Does anyone know of the sizes of the brake lines for our Z cars? The line running from my master cylinder to the Distribution block/proportioning block thing is rounded off and needs to be replaced. I need a replacement and don't know the pitch of the threads and such. Id like to see if anyone knows the answer instead of me taking off the one in my car and having brake fluid leak all over...
