Hi, first time poster here, I found copper flakes in my oil last week, despite having no rod knock. Car seemed to be running fine when I did the oil change. I was wondering if because I found out my bearing was going bad before it had "spun", should I try and attempt to just replace the bearing, whether it was main or rod, and move on? or should I just be looking for a new engine entirely. I took it to a shop for them to look it, and they quoted me at like 6500 at the high-end for repairs. I'm assuming that that's if the damage is extremely bad and pistons/block need to be resurfaced? I don't know where to go from here, so any advice is welcome. Thank you!

Trying to identify some cams I have. Yes, I have too many and I'm only 19. Trying to figure out which one would be the best to use for my engine rebuild, and can't find much information online about any of them. I have 3 heads, I marked in all the pictures what head the cam came from. Which cam would you guys use? The P79 cam has no markings on the back, which I found odd. Couldn't find anything about it.

Hi, I am going to be getting a new cam or a regrind, and rebuilding the whole head in general, so I had a question regarding finding the correct lash pad. I understand doing the wipe test etc., however in everything I've read it says to try lash pads until you find the right size. Since I don't have different sized lash pads lying around, and it would be a pain to order multiple lash pads and wait for them, is there a way to shim the original lash pad and find the correct size like that? and then just purchase the set of the size I need? I understand that it is recommended to check every single rocker, and each pad size may differ if the valve stems aren't aligned to the same height. Thanks for any help with this!
