So my driveshaft on my 260 makes a noise when at high speeds I take my foot off the accelerator. Basically if I am punching it and say OK - fast enough and stop the acceleration and then are coasting with no torque to the drive shaft it makes this same noise it is making in this video, just much more, louder etc. it sounds like the driveshaft is gonna come up through the floor- maybe that's an exaggeration but you get the idea. Is that amount of play in the driveshaft correct? I replaced the universals a while back , doesn't seems like they are part of the play , it seems like either the transmission or the Differental.IMG_4827.MOV Any thoughts?
  2. I just picked up a FS5C71A 5 speed for my 71' and it came with two driveshaft's but neither of them have the front slip yoke. Does any one have one they are willing to part with? There is one on ebay but it's $60 and looks like the seller has an extended shipping and handling time. Was hoping to get it by the end of say next week. Alternatively an entire drive shaft would work if its the early style for the 70-71 cars before they moved the diff. Any help from my fellow Z enthusiasts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Eric
  3. Trying to get my driveshaft out of my 77' 280z and the 4 12mm bolts that connect the driveshaft to the diff are impossible to get to and the nuts are starting to round off on the ones ive attempted. The nuts are facing toward the diff, is this supposed to be right? It seems it would be a hell of alot easier if they faced the trans side and I could use an impact wrench on it. Otherwise I dont have enough room to move my wrench and cannot even fit a socket on it because of the limited space. Help me please.
