  1. Hi, Another bizare broblem, my left brake lights and flasher do not work anymore. this is what i tested. Bulbs OK, then I cleaned left harnest and connectors. did not solve anything. So started diag. Did a lot of looking around and figured that left feed is green and red wire and left feed is green and black. I checked in the from under dash right side there is a 3 pins connector with the green red (left) and green black (right) feeds. I jumped the brake switch (no partner to do these test) I jumped wired the feed green black to the green red left brake light where on did jump wired green black to green black right brake light where on (i presume my rear harnest is good from there) tried jumping green red feed to both sides (no luck there) test both feeds with a test light they both turn the test light on. test those feed with mutimeter both equals 12.2 volts. How can this be possible? I dont understand. Anybody have a clue? Ok did had a little drawing to explain maybe better. So test i did is under the dash i unpluged the 3 pin connector and crossed connected B to C to see the if my harness was good and actualy left brake light were bright as normal. Note also everything other lights works. backup light, and night light. Flasher do not work but i get same result if a cross connect it. electric.tif
  2. Hi Guys! I need advice on my left rear turn signal diagnostic. The left rear turn signal quit working. All the bulbs are fine. The left front signal works fine. Both right turn signals front and rear work fine. ALL the hazards work including the left rear. BOTH rear brake lights work. HOWEVER, When the brakes are applied the left brake light goes out when the left turn signal is activated and there is no flashing signal. With the right turn signal activated and the brakes applied, the right signal flashes normally over riding the brake light. I read a couple of threads and my diagnosis is; - Turn Signal Flasher is ok - Hazard Flasher is ok - Brake over ride switch is ok I read a thread that stated the column switch as individual contacts for the front signal and rear signal. My gut tells me the switch is the culprit, in particular the rear signal contact. Thoughts? Advice? Comments? Thanks in advance!
  3. So, I've been working on restoring a '79 280zx, and man, it's been a fight. But finally, it's running, it's ready to go, and so I thought that from here on out, it'd be all cosmetic. That is until I started testing my lights. Long story short, my right turn signal... With the lights on (parking or head), the front right turn signal will stay solid (even without the turn signal being engaged), and the rear right will flash rapidly. With the lights off, all works well, except the left side (side mounted, not the entire left side) parking light/flasher blinks as well when the right is engaged. The left side turn signals functions, no problem. Any ideas?
  4. hey the ive never posted on here but i was hopin someone could help me out. the other day i was driving my 72 240z and i forgot to secure my battery. when i went around a corner it fell on the engine. grounded out and melted my positive terminal. I thought it was gonna have big problems. but everything still works except for my turn signals. Flick the switch up or down nothing happens. it isnt getting any power to the top two fuses on the right side. the ones that say lights L and lights R. i also changed out the flasher and still nothing. Anyone know where i should go from here?
