Hi All, First of all I've read several wheel fitment threads on the site. Please don't' shoot the messenger, still confused. Pushed into buying wheels and tires quickly (not good). Converted to vented rotors / rear disk brake conversion and now the 14" wheels do not fit over the front calipers. This would all be ok if the car was in my garage but it's 30 miles from my home in a service garage. The shame of spending dollars and having the car towed home, just doesn't seem right. Please only comment if you've have a similar config listed below. Only looking for confirmation on stock body (no flares) 240Z's. Specs: 1973 240Z with air dam (front valence removed), stock fenders, Eibach progressive springs on stock shock housings. Car is slightly lowered with the rear shock spacers installed. Will 15" x 7" 0 offset wheels and 205 x 60 x 15 tires fit without any issues? Need to purchase and deliver to get the car home. Thank you for your help,

Moving sale! I have a set of 4 (and 1 spare tire) of the old school 4 lug 14" MAG wheels with pretty much new (but old) tires on them. The rims and tires have been sitting for about 4 years in my garage, but have no punctures or issues. The rims are in decent shape (pictures to come soon) and have no dents in them and hold air fine (like I said, they worked perfectly fine when I had them on the z some time ago). With a little TLC these bad boys would look great on a resto 240/60/80Z. Price: FREE in Mission Vijeo,CA 92691 contact me @ 949-444-2251

I own a 1975 Datsun 280Z and would like to continue using my original nostalgic rims. I have read a lot of good information on this topic, but it still leaves you a little unsure. I know I only have one choice for tires in a semi-performance all season (BF goodrich radial T/A). I know this car's stock suspension is higher than my previous 240Z and I intend to lower my current 280Z a couple of inches. Unfortunately I need tires now so I can't wait to lower the car and then buy tires, which would be the proper order to do it. Just wondered if anybody knew the right tire size to choose from between a 215/60/14 and 215/70/14 and 225/60/14 and a 235/60/14? I am trying to achieve a little more width to the contact patch of the tire without making the tire too tall or cause any rubbing for future lowering plans. Thank you in advance for any tips! Michael

i have googled, binged, and asked jeevs, but i cannot find a list of tire sizes that will fit my 280zx. it is a 1980 10th ann. so it has 14 inch rims. i really want the tires to look good with the car so any ideas on what fits without any rubbing or junk would be super!

I finally replaced the old tires that came when I bought the car back in July 2007. It was a shame to replace them, as they had plenty of tread. but they were 7 years old. They were hard as a rock. Anyway, I upgraded to some Bridgestone Protenza Pole Position RE960AS 195x60x14s. There aren't too many choices in the 14s, and I wanted to keep my 14 inch wheels. A big plus on these tires is that they are amazingly quiet. I was shocked at the difference. As you know, the 240Z isn't a quiet car. Apparently a lot of the noise in mine was from the old tires. I was expecting a decrease in road noise, based on Tire Rack's user reviews, but the difference from the old tires blows me away. Even my wife noticed it right away. As for how they handle, well I was wondered why my car skidded around a lot, considering I've got new Eibach springs and KYB struts, plus all new Energy bushings. Compared to my wife's Suzuki Kizashi, my 240's handling sucked. Not any more, these tires woke up the handling to the point where I feel it handles like it should. The wet traction in these is as good as you'd expect, too. Anyway, just wanted to let folks know about these tires, as there's so few options in the 14 size range. Doubt I'll ever track them, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried them on a track, and what you thought.

I'm looking at a set of Yokohama Avid tires for my bronze '78 coupe. OEM 14" steel wheels with OEM "mag" wheel covers. Any thoughts or comments on these tires in general or specific to Z cars?
