Hi dk240z,

Oh yes,I would like to try "talking Z 24hours marathon".

My wife has been already angry about my 240Z hobby, sunny days working for my Z and rainy days infront of my computer watching this site.

I have a good excuse"I am talking and learning english with worldwide nativespeekers."

Thank you 240 in OZ,the braided hose is sold in the store?

looks a little bit dark as you mentioned but braided style is now rare,it is worth to buy.

I have just revised my web page,

http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz240zsports/keycilinder.html

About key cylinder.

kats

kats,

If you are looking for a good source of original style hose clamps and such this person might be of good service:

http://www.zzxdatsun.com

The owner of the shop is Mike McGinnis (Banzai Motorworks) and he is very knowledgeable regarding factory parts. As an example, he has reproduced the "OK" sticker and a few years ago Nissan came calling and purchased 50 stickers for its factory restoration program. The funny thing is they didn't quite finish the 50 cars as I understand. It was reported that Nissan purchased better than 125 cars and who knows what happened to the excess. In any event you can still purchase the original style clamps from Banzai Motorworks and the local Nissan dealer that I deal with can still source them as well. The only difference is that your clamps look better than the factory originals!

Good luck finding an English teacher, I would volunteer but, I would have eight Z cars to bring with me and one '72 Celica! In any case I have been speaking with a Japanese woman named Satomi I am attempting to learn Japanese, albeit at a slow pace.

Hey Kats

Yes, the braided fuel line is available from Rare Spares here in Australia. Price for 7.5mm ID x 12.5mm OD is AUS$12.45 / metre including GST.

It would look nice in the engine bay even though it is a little dark, but only if you had a full compliment of braided type hoses (as you do, including the radiator hoses).

Ill just go for the plain rubber as I dont have the braided radiator hoses; might get a little busy looking having 3 types of hoses in the engine bay rather than 2!

Kats, exceptional website BTW!!

Regards

Joseph

Does anyone know when Nissan went from cloth braided hoses to rubber ones? I would like to someday get all of the correct hoses for my car so I was thinking I would start collecting now. First I want to know what Is correct because I have a mix of cloth and rubber. I have a early 260z by the way. When I get home on Friday I am going to look in my 260z brochure and hopefully that will help me some. I am thinking that all the hoses were of the cloth type, but I am not sure. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Joseph/Kats

I came across a motorsport site ( haven't got the link at present as I found it at work) that sell the braided fuel and vaccum hose in red, blue and black. black looks a bit too dark, and red is of course no good, but the blue looks like quite a good approximation of the original grey.

The only bummer is that they don't sell any big enough to do the rad hoses

I will post the link when I'm back at work

regards

Andrew
