Well, this blows...(not really)

So on that picture (and on the blower harness) there's the connector that connects to the blower speed control switch, and branching off from that is a little 3-prong white plastic switch with two wires coming out of it, blue and red. Now, where does THIS plug into, and am I at all close in assuming this is the power? Being red and all...if this is the power, it might explain why I have no power to the blower...as this connector isn't plugged into anything in my car.


Ok, with that picture I hope you can address whether you need that wiring harness or not.

Now, as far as wiring schematics are concerned. They are fine if you know where to find the individual wires that are represented by the wiring schematic. Unfortunately, the majority of schematics do NOT identify which wires are together. An exception to this is the later schematics for the 260 and 280. However, those have their own level of incredible complexity tossed in as to make them totally unuseable.

The FSM does have a Multiple Connector Diagram as well as a Single Wire connector diagram. Those in hand with the wiring schematic are a good set to decyphering out the wiring.

Last night, after working from 7:30am till 1:30am, an idea came to me right as I fell asleep. I woke up, showered, and went down to the garage...touched two wires together, and voila. I have a functional blower. Many thanks to Enrique and others for ALL the help (it's been a long, voltmeter-filled journey), and I'm ecstatic...now the real fun begins! Now that the cars lights and signals and such work, it's time to take it into work and change gaskets and boots, seals, bushings, pads, etc. Then off to the body shop for a new rear panel and paint...then into my hands for a daily driver! I'm SO excited. Oh man!!!!! I love this car, and I LOVE this board. =D

I'm glad you got a "charge" out of it. Remember to document what appened. See if you can locate the spot on a wiring diagram for the next guy wioth the same problem. I even have a notebook with all the different circuits with colors, connector types, etc. drawn in it, when I work on that circuit.

My problem, unfortunately, appears to have been entirely caused by a PO, or I would have a nice write-up with pictures, too. So much slicing and dicing behind my dash that I can only guess at what made him/her do it...the important thing is that it works =D
