The races I like most nowdays are the Vintage cars. To see the famous cars I saw and/ or read about in my pimple-faced days is the best!

GT-40's, Ferrari Daytonas, 60's and 70' Trans-Am racers, 917's, McLarens, Lolas, and the list goes on.

And these cars aren't on parade, they whip the snot out of them!

SCCA type of events are the most exciting. You have every different engine sound and configuration you can think of. Not to mention their safety, their investment, their pocket book, is all hung out in the breeze.

Same thing with the european touring car races. Those are regular cars( fixed up some) that they race. I've never seen any sponsor sticker- just car number.

especially F1. Technology taken as far as you can take it on 4 wheels. Used to love CART/hate IRL, but due to crossbreeding/incest with the owners/drivers/leagues, who cares anymore.

Nothing quite like the exhileration of hearing the open wheel racers' engines SCREAM, when you're there in person. Been to several races: F1- Montreal Grand Prix, US Grand Prix. CART - Miller 200 at Mid-Ohio several times, Cleveland a couple of times, Laguna Seca , Long Beach and Indy 500 when it was still CART.

NASCAR's good, but F1 is the real deal.

The fans are different too... Go to a F1 (or even a CART race) and then go to NASCAR race, and do some people watching. The comparison's not pretty... :ermm:
