71ZZZZZ Posted September 4, 2005 Share #37 Posted September 4, 2005 well, I think it's a waste of time too, but guess they don't mind. Yes I have ordered a few things from them. The parts that they supplied were good. OK,well it's worth a phone call... beandip Posted March 21, 2011 Author Share #39 Posted March 21, 2011 they were not available over 7 years ago. What makes you think you can buy some know? The best you can hope for is to find a set in a Z in a bone yard somewhere. I haven't seen a early Z in a wrecking yard in years. Good luck. esmit208 Posted March 22, 2011 Share #42 Posted March 22, 2011 I plan to extract mine out of Project 3/72 and clean them real good and reuse them. This is where water leaks in and causes the corner above the tail light on the corresponding side to rot out as well as anything else that got wet from water intrusion. If you seal them well you should have no problem. Oiluj Posted March 30, 2011 Share #45 Posted March 30, 2011 Nissanman,Can you provide some dimensions for these? They look like they might be pretty easy to replicate using RTV. Nissanman Posted March 30, 2011 Share #46 Posted March 30, 2011 Yes, I can do some measuring for you. While I am not disputing what you suggest, bear in mind the guy who is producing these has spent a LOT of time perfecting the moulds and material. If you can do it in RTV, good job, but I'm sure it won't be easy to produce a boot with the correct thickness and strength to handle the wear and tear of the hinge movement.
