Nice Original 1972

There’s a very nice unrestored ‘72 for sale in Virginia. The price is a little steep for me, but I’m impressed by its condition, originality and documentation.

This car is georgous. Everything down to the engine bay is original. At the convention, there was a man from florida that was hanging out with Chris, and he was trying to trade Kats for a silver 72' that had 14,XXX original miles on it. The car was still in Florida though.

Someday, I would love to find a car like this.

Do you know if that silver 14,000 mile car the one that was recently almost sold for $30,000? It sounds like the same one. I would guess that Kats was nowhere near interested in a trade though.

IMHO these unrestored gems are and should be worth lots of money because anyone with enough money can RESTORE a car but there must only be a few truly original excellent condition cars left.

Hi Andrew, I really don't know about the silver 30K 240. I really shouldn't be talking about these deals, but yeah, it didn't seem like Kats was interested.

I agree with you on these unrestored gems. It is a like a going back in time, but some of these restored cars are the same way. I am debating whether or not to put my old faded seat covers in my car in place of the super white ones from too intense restorations. What do you think? Hehehe, it wouldn't be for a while that I would put them in if I did decide to make the change. My Dad thinks it would be a horrible idea.

Was that center console armrest offered in '72? I wish a member could go look at this car and report back. It looks like it's been stored in a time capsule. One of the best Z's I've seen in a long time. I'd think a high end auction would be the place to sell that car if it's all that it appears to be.

I'm with you on the seat covers, but I suppose it depends on how bad they are. I maybe an outsider in my humble opinion on this, but I prefer a 30 year old car to look as if it has aged, with signs of use, not to be as shiny/clean as the day it left the factory.

I don't believe this car will meet the reserve based on the pics at the top from Hemmings where he wanted $18,500, IMHO.

Ben, that was Burt trying to bullshit kats. Yes, it's the silver $30,000 eBay deal, but Burt withdrew the car before it sold. I'll own up to friendship with Burt, but please don't blame me for what he says or does. The guy is completely out of control!!!!!

It was available as a dealer option in 1973 (I bought one) so it's possible that it was available in 72 as well.

If you happen to be out that way I would love a review of it. It is kinda pricey, but as I have told 2ManyZ's before.....If it is the right car, price will not matter too much.
