Zrush Posted September 24, 2004 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2004 That's a beautiful Z. I don't really care for a brown car but that one is very nice. Seems to be well preserved.Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13393-just-curious/#findComment-96268 Share on other sites
zhead240 Posted September 24, 2004 Author Share #3 Posted September 24, 2004 how about the interior color(butterscotch?) i kinda like it.different.don't see the controls for the a/c.aren't they usually on the side of the trany tunnel, driver side? Zrush Posted September 24, 2004 Share #4 Posted September 24, 2004 If the car came with A/C from the factory, then wouldn't the controls be under the main vent along with the heater controls like on the 280Z's? I'm sure someone here could elaborate on this further. Man, the more I look at that car, the more I like it. The interior kind of grows on you. Absolutely beautiful Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13393-just-curious/#findComment-96276 Share on other sites
ChrisA Posted September 24, 2004 Share #5 Posted September 24, 2004 My 72 is the same combo(brown/tan). Aside from the previous owner completely neglecting the car for years, it isnt a bad combo. The interior doesnt seem to get quite as hot as the all black interior does. I think a blue Z with the tan interior would be okay. But Michael thinks like I do. Green with tan is nice! sblake01 Posted September 24, 2004 Share #6 Posted September 24, 2004 According to the ad, the AC was installed aftermarket probably by a shop local to the dealer. They used ARA a lot here in SoCal. The controlls seemed to go wherever the shop decided to put them. (this is an answer to zhead (post #3) and Vicky (post #4)QUOTE: The original owner's manual and A/C warranty showing 1973 installation date. . . As far as i know you wouldn't get that with factory air since it would be covered by the car's warranty. Victor Laury Posted September 24, 2004 Share #8 Posted September 24, 2004 I miss my root-beer/butterscotch car! It was a pretty little rust bucket! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13393-just-curious/#findComment-96318 Share on other sites

Back in 1981, my first car at 15 y/o was a 73 with the same color combo, but with an automatic and black vinyl top. Very groovy! It was a Texas car that was shipped to Hawaii by a G.I. It had an ARA AC install with the switch installed right below the trip meter reset knob. Man, I wish I still had that car!
