My260Rocks Posted October 9, 2004 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2004 Does anyone have any idea where I can find one (for less then $200) or has experience in fabricating one? I'm more interested in the fabrication.-Patrick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13570-lookin-for-front-strut-tower-brace/ Share on other sites

My260Rocks Posted October 10, 2004 Author Share #6 Posted October 10, 2004 ha, went on ebay to buy a honda strut bar to mod for the Z... saw one for $.99 :surprised with 15 minutes left in the auction... so I placed my bid, and won it for less then a dollar.... or so I thought... upon closed inspection, which i failed to make initially because of the time left in the auction, I found that shipping was $23.99!! I was had... but still 25 dollar strut bar is not TOO bad of a deal... Bambikiller240 Posted October 10, 2004 Share #7 Posted October 10, 2004 I was had... but still 25 dollar strut bar is not TOO bad of a deal... That will depend on if it can be made to fit and work properly in a Z. IIRC, in the other thread people were having problems closing the hood when using this strut bar. I have some fabrication experience... you know the kind... a box full of bolts, spacers, odds and ends ranging from a 1970 Moto Morini and 76 CanAm... to a 1996 chevy suburban and 1984 Toyota Minivan... its a really big box. Thanks for the input all of you.-Patrick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13570-lookin-for-front-strut-tower-brace/#findComment-97923 Share on other sites
TomoHawk Posted October 12, 2004 Share #9 Posted October 12, 2004 All you need is a piece of aluminum or steel tube. flatten the ends & drill a hole, or attach mounting plates. then maybe bend the middle with a curve for clearance. Anybody should be able to make one of those.
