Zrush Posted November 12, 2004 Share #13 Posted November 12, 2004 This Franklin Mint one I have actually has, like a velvet type material where ever the carpeting is supposed to be. Floor boards, hatch area. Pretty neat. The air cleaner even has the stickers on it. There's a sticker also where the paint code is on the radiator support. Even the blue oil filter has writting on it. Maybe I can get Scott to snap a picture of the detail. Alfadog Posted November 12, 2004 Share #14 Posted November 12, 2004 I found Kyosho the best. Franklin Mint is way too expensive (and only 1:24!) and the others are crap. The "Road Signature" rally car has hubcaps!?!??! I have 3 Kyosho S30's, the Road Signature rally car and an AutoArt 350Z (AutoArt makes very good models also, but no S30). sblake01 Posted November 13, 2004 Share #15 Posted November 13, 2004 Actually for the money ($10.00) the Road Signature is the best. Doors, hood and hatch all line up. Front wheels turn. Engine turns over, nice and quiet Of course not. But the hub caps are off a '72. This model should have the "D"'s. Be cool if we could find one with the slots.Vicky Funny thing is the Road Signature rally car (#26) has the D hubcaps and the Road signature stock car (the 26th-27thZ mini-me) has the 72 caps. But they are the same car basically. Now the Kyosho has a rear window defroster, carpet, diamond vinyl on the trans tunnel, upolstery in the back, walnut shift knob and steering wheel, decals on the air cleaner, the correct valve cover, decals on the master-vac and radiator, and even a paint sticker on the radiator support! (although I can't make out the number) It has heater hoses and spark plug/coil wires. It even has rolled up side windows. But not the corrrect hubcaps. No emblem at all in the center. I can't imagine the Franklyn Mint 1/24 being any more detailed. The SunStar is junk. I have the SunStar. (A Black 72!!), the two above mentioned Road Sig., the Kyosho, as well as a red Kyosho Z32 and an Orange Maisto Z33. And over 75 other 1/18 Muscle, Classic, Vintage, and Exotic cars and trucks. I also have a Nissan Mid-4, a 280ZX, a Z31, a couple of Z32s and a Z33 in the Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning size. Then theres the Days Gone and the Racing Champions/MacDonalds' Bill Elliot collection........... Alfadog Posted November 13, 2004 Share #16 Posted November 13, 2004 The Kyosho (1:18) comes in 240Z (LHD), Fairlady Z-L, 240ZG, Fairlady Z432-R, Monte Carlo rally car and Safari rally car variations. The Fairlady Z-L has correct hubcaps (no logo), the 240ZG has correct hubcaps (Z in the centre), and the Z432-R and rally cars don't have hubcaps. You probably have the 240Z which like you said has the Fairlady Z-L hubcaps without anything in the centre. Interesting... Zrush Posted November 13, 2004 Share #17 Posted November 13, 2004 The Franklin Mint Z was the first model I bought. I've purchased other things from them so I thought I'd get their Z. I would never buy from them again after comparing them to other models. Franklin was way over priced and I agree that the Kyosho has most of the detail that the Franklin Mint one has.Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/?page=2#findComment-101819 Share on other sites
RAZ1 Posted November 13, 2004 Share #18 Posted November 13, 2004 There is also a couple from Japan. One is from delPrado. Comes with a little book/magazine/brochure.(they have a whole collection of different Z's and skylines)And the other is from TOMY (It's the yellow G-nose of Mr. K's).Both are in Japanese so you can't read much and are small in scale. Quality seems to be very nice, I won't open them up so I can't tell for sure. Doehring Posted November 13, 2004 Share #19 Posted November 13, 2004 Why don't you look into the Gallery, Z car models. There are many Z models shown and you can compare. Good luckRolf Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/?page=2#findComment-101834 Share on other sites
