Momo Steering Wheels

Recommended Posts

Anybody using one of these wheels in your Z? How do you like it? I am looking at replacing my stock '78 280Z wheel with one. Will the smaller wheel at 13.8" increase steering effort?

Probably looking at the Prototipo, Monte Carlo, Mod 7 or Mod 78 in 13.8" diameter with hub adapter 3503. Opinions?

I bought and plan to use this Momo wheel on one of my Zs. The smaller diameter will indeed increase your effort to turn the wheel. Make sure you get the right adaptor. I thought I saw an adaptor on eBay for sale. A Nissan horn button for the adaptor is being offered by "choosalogin", but if you buy a new wheel, get the whole setup. Momo products are first rate quality - enjoy.

You might be able to install the Datsun logo inside the Momo center cap? or maybe trim & file a Datsun cap to fit. I liked the feel and size & color of this Momo. We are using a push-button release hub with it to remove the wheel.

I picked this Momo hub adapter up off ebay. Looks like the same one I have on my '71 240Z. Should there by any problem buying a new Momo Prototipo and using this adapter & horn button on my '78 280Z? By the way if this works I'll be selling my OEM 280Z steering wheel which is in very nice shape. Here is a link to a pic of it.

Since I am going to be buying a new Momo steering wheel for the 280Z, anyone interested in my OEM 280Z wheel in very good condition. Horn pad will be included. The vinyl is still in excellent shape. It is perfect for someone wanting the OEM look. PM me if you are interested. I am thinking $120 plus shipping.

Wow! And only took you 27 months. LOL

I picked up Momo MonteCarlo wheel in Zebrano wood on eBay a while back. It was NOS from 1986 and came in the original box with the warranty card. See pic below. I don't have a pic of it mounted yet but I love the way it looks.

This Momo came on my Z when I bought it. It's not going to be used by me and I thought since you guys know something about them, I'd ask your opinion. It needs to be refinished & rewrapped. There is some rust on the bezel around the horn button and a few paint chips but no damage otherwise. Just wondering if it's worthwhile doing.
