I got a problem I don't know quite how to approach. Occasionally when I am driving my 72' 240Z I get to a stoplight. The thing is when i go to accelerate the car either stalls or sputters for quite a few seconds than it kicks in.I was just wondering whether anybody else has had a similar problem and/or they know how i can fix it? Please give me some tips.

Check you fuel filters and insure that they are clean. If you have the equipment do a fuel pressure check and compair to the specs for the engine. (would give them here but I am at work at the moment and don't have the info with me.) Not sure if this year has the additional electric fuel pump back by the tank. If it does replace the filter in it also. Check the Floats through the inspection ports and insure your getting enough gas in. THese are my best guesses at them moment.

Always address the simplest things first. You may want to start out by giving your Z a compression test, which should give you a good idea of the condition of your engine. Maybe it just needs a simple tuneup. Remember you have a fuel system, ignition system, and the physical condition of the engine that all need to be addressed in order to have a good running engine. Any out-of-adjustments in any one of the systems mentioned can attribute to a poor running engine. This should help you get started, at least!
