280zvert Posted February 8, 2005 Share #13 Posted February 8, 2005 Paint looks great. Where did you get the tires and wheels? Size of tires and specs on the wheels? I realy like the look. Trys_Hard Posted February 9, 2005 Author Share #14 Posted February 9, 2005 No. if the paint burns off, then you will have a muffler with no paint on it, not blue paint..... that is unless only silver paint burns off???Paint job looks great, like the color! Thanks that color is 307 Metallic Blue sometimes called Pacific Blue. For the most part they did a great job, except for the muffler which I have heard hundreds of comments by now. I'm pretty sure it will all burn off.The Wheels are 14x7 Konig Rewinds, and the tires are 225/60/14 Yokohama Avid S/T's. They are 360 treadwear but do grip fairly well, they are not a Falken Azenis but then few tires are. I have a set of 15" Turbo wheels with Falkens on them for autocrossing.Art Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/14911-my-1-day-autobody-paint-job/?page=2#findComment-111992 Share on other sites
260DET Posted February 9, 2005 Share #15 Posted February 9, 2005 If it to be a daily driver and comp car it is not a good idea to have the best paint job, you tend to worry about paint damage rather than enjoying the car. Mine was an acrylic home job a few days ago with the main emphasis on body integrity. Still looks good today despite a few chips and scratches. Leave the uberschmick paint jobs to the show an shine crowd, your approach makes sense Art.
