keiths71240Z Posted February 14, 2005 Share #1 Posted February 14, 2005 I have a 7-71 240 with a 3 hole upper thermostat housing. Is this correct? Do you have a 2 or 3 and what is the production date? Note sure what the extra hole is used for, since one of the other holes holds on the sparkplug wire loom. My lower housing only has 2 holes. Bambikiller240 Posted February 14, 2005 Share #2 Posted February 14, 2005 No. Mine is 2 hole, production date 11/71The Thermostat Housing bolts to the Cylinder Head with 2 bolts on my car.The Thermostat Housing Cover, or Top is attached to the Housing with 2 bolts from 1970 thru 2/73 production dates. After that, they switched to the 3 bolt Cover or Top.
