v_balge Posted February 23, 2005 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2005 I'm getting ready to replace the valve stem seals on my 280z with the head still on the car method. The descriptions I've read say to turn the engine over by hand. Whats the best way to do this? Is it safe to use the cam shaft sprocket?Vince Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15089-turning-engine-over-by-hand/ Share on other sites

I'd do that instead of trying the camshaft idea. I think it's a 27mm bolt. Bambikiller240 Posted February 23, 2005 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2005 Yep, 27mm socket is the one for the crankshaft. Rotate in direction of normal engine operation.
