zedevan Posted March 15, 2005 Share #13 Posted March 15, 2005 you might want to have a look at www.toymods.org.au, i've been looking on there a bit lately to get an idea of rims and prices as sprinters have the same sorta stud pattern and offset from what i know anyway... Gav240z Posted March 15, 2005 Share #14 Posted March 15, 2005 $1600 is not a bad price it's actually pretty good. I need 16" rims for my Z to fit the Z32 Calipers. I'm gonna save for 16" Watanabe Type - R's. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-116846 Share on other sites

Gav240z Posted March 15, 2005 Share #17 Posted March 15, 2005 http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=14344 have you seen these my mate got them for $600 odd Australia off a guy who sells them on Ebay. They are to suit a HAWNNNDA but with 40mm spacers they sit perfect on a Z.He paid all up $1200 i think with tyres and spacers.I guess if you don't like the idea of the spacers the other wheels are a good option. They are 17X7 I believe. Aussie260z Posted March 16, 2005 Author Share #20 Posted March 16, 2005 Spoke to a rep from Speedywheels and he was adament that the Sirocco's would not fit my car,He said i have an offet of about 10-15mm - and just about all modern wheels are 25mm and bigger,Said i was pretty much up sh#t creek  Except he did recommend, Performancewheels - they said that the "Tempest" & "Lotus" would fit on the Z, but when i spoke to a local distributor he thought i wouldnt have the clearance to install the centre wheel caps,This is getting annoying Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-116981 Share on other sites
260DET Posted March 16, 2005 Share #21 Posted March 16, 2005 Performance Challengers here, they look a lot better with a solid coloured center IMHOhttp://www.performwheels.com.au/classic.htm#classic Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-116998 Share on other sites
Aussie260z Posted March 16, 2005 Author Share #22 Posted March 16, 2005 Had some interesting conversions in regards to wheels choice,Was told that if i go wider wheels and the wheels aren't increasing in the same incriminats from both sides i would increase my scrub radius,Ie.......if i went to 7" wheels from 6" wheels, but the extra Inch in width was all on the outside of the wheel, instead of 0.5" on the inside and 0.5" on the outside this would lead to an increase in "scrub radius"For Example: Your driving down a bumpy road and hit a pot hole, the wheel will go in the direction of way the wheel was increased (to the outside of the wheel),So unless you can find wheels (or have them made) that will evenly distribute the extra wheel width, you will increase your scrub radius,But apparently this is fairly difficult to do in a Z because of the Spring seat on the strut's getting in the way,To get around this problem, need to change to a 2" diameter spring and change the spring seat,Thus allowing more room for wheel clearances Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-117105 Share on other sites
Aussie260z Posted March 20, 2005 Author Share #23 Posted March 20, 2005 Just looking at the Challenger wheels and was wondering.............could i go to 15" by 8"'s on the rear of my Zed???Apparently the big-brake upgrade from HoppersStoppers will fit underneath them - 300mm by 28mm rotors, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-117557 Share on other sites
TomoHawk Posted April 19, 2005 Share #24 Posted April 19, 2005 You would need a spacer, a 40mm would be the most appropriate. Try to get the offset of the wheel to 0 if possible. You mean the spacer is 40mm thick? that's about 2 inches, and I don't think the studs are long enough to work. What is the thickest space you could practically or safely use?thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15290-will-these-wheels-fit/?page=2#findComment-120989 Share on other sites
