Cuong Nguyen Posted April 16, 2005 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2005 Hi all, here is a link to some "interesting" body and exhaust styling of Japanese cars. There is even a 260Z and a 240K in there too!http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/20050116tas2.htmlDoes anyone know what the initial inspiration or the official term that they used to describe these cars? billcapp Posted April 16, 2005 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2005 Cyuong,What is the purpose of all the added hardware? Certainly doesn't look practical. Before everyone starts in on how ugly this stuff looks, maybe this question should be answered. Most will think it sucks......but does it work for racing. Remember not all cars need to fit the "mold". Thanks for the link :rambo: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15642-interesting-japanese-auto-styling/#findComment-120713 Share on other sites
hls30.com Posted April 16, 2005 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2005 I think the official term would be: "Not on my track!"Can you imagine an accident in one of those cars? Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15642-interesting-japanese-auto-styling/#findComment-120720 Share on other sites
zguitar71 Posted April 16, 2005 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2005 I have started to really like the over the top Japanese styling. I would never sport a car like that myself but do like to look at them. They seem very cartoon like, and a parody of the whole wing and ground effects kits that are out there. Bambikiller240 Posted April 16, 2005 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2005 Does anyone know what the initial inspiration or the official term that they used to describe these cars? There are a few on that page that are interesting, though the exhaust systems look really stupid.I'm thinking tha the term "$hitbox" just about covers the description of most of them Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15642-interesting-japanese-auto-styling/#findComment-120733 Share on other sites

gogriz91 Posted April 16, 2005 Share #9 Posted April 16, 2005 When you live on top of each other, your car becomes one of your few outlets to be able to personalize and "express" yourself. I think it looks goofy too until I see what teenagers are doing to Hondas in the States. Alfadog Posted April 16, 2005 Share #10 Posted April 16, 2005 Inspiration comes from race cars, official term is "bosozuko" I think (thanks Alan!).I try to like them, but to be honest any of those cars in stock form would be much nicer Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15642-interesting-japanese-auto-styling/#findComment-120779 Share on other sites
