johncdeere Posted May 16, 2005 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2005 Being a former Boy Scout, it's hard to really do it but I'm thinking of just leaving out the spare and jack on my Z.I plan to use it for weekend trips and maybe some autocross. The spare would barely get by in a pinch and it's extra weight taking up extra space.Do most of you keep the spare or just leave it out? MikeW Posted May 16, 2005 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2005 The spare would barely get by in a pinch and it's extra weight taking up extra space.Unless you run into a sharp curb or some other avoidable obstacle most typical flats are caused by picking up a nail and could be fixed with a can of fix-a-flat (hopefully a non-flammable variety). I can see you being worried about the weight of a spare while racing but I don't see what space savings you'll achieve unless you plan on putting something else in the spare tire well. Marty Rogan Posted May 16, 2005 Share #3 Posted May 16, 2005 Having a flat can be a real pain. It's better tha have one and avoid being stranded somewhere.I just take my spare out when I get to the track.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15928-who-goes-spare-less/#findComment-124022 Share on other sites

GunnerRob Posted May 17, 2005 Share #6 Posted May 17, 2005 John wants to leave out the jack too. But then how would you rescue ladies with no mechanical skills? Ahhhh...use their jack that came with their car to change their tire on their car? TomoHawk Posted May 17, 2005 Share #7 Posted May 17, 2005 They like it better when you use tools from your car to fix it. But you still have to get the spare out of the the lady's car. Then they leave you behind to put your stuff away after they leave. johncdeere Posted May 17, 2005 Author Share #9 Posted May 17, 2005 I always use their jack and lug wrench anyway. You always have the oportunity for them bending over to move their stuff out of the way. (Please see forum section "Boobs" and do a full web search for "Up-skirt")"Must move this wet bikini" Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15928-who-goes-spare-less/#findComment-124087 Share on other sites
TomoHawk Posted May 17, 2005 Share #10 Posted May 17, 2005 You guys have some strange women out your way. Mid-west girls like it when you bring your own tools.Don't forget about the kind that would rather have you drive them to a motel while it gets fixed? Bambikiller240 Posted May 17, 2005 Share #11 Posted May 17, 2005 Well, they have a choice:Take the help I'm offering using their tools, or change their own tire while I go have a beer and laugh at them for being so damn lame as to turn down help. It's no skin off my A$$. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/15928-who-goes-spare-less/#findComment-124092 Share on other sites
TomoHawk Posted May 17, 2005 Share #12 Posted May 17, 2005 You're talking about the ones that can change the tire, oil, do a valve job... Maybe they'll have a few beers with you!
