im goin to modify my fuel rail and i was wondering if it would hurt the engine to take the cold start valve out and the thermotime switch

are these components necissary to the car or can i take them out and not worry

also i want to clean up the intake manifold any vacum hoses i can get rid of?

or any other hoses for that matter
