Need Advice on Watkins Glen

I am planning a business trip to Buffalo NY Sept. 19 through Sept. 30, and want to see the IRL race at Watkins Glen the 24th & 25th. I would be thrilled to meet up with fellow Datsun people if anyone is planning on being there. Also, if anyone has a recomendation on a hotel or motel in the area, I would be most appreciative. The list of places to stay on the Watkins Glen web site is quite lengthy, and it appears many places are already booked up.

Try the Golden Knight Inn (607-535-8012) many consider it the best place to stay (5 miles to the track)

I just moved to Geneva which is about 30-45 mins from the Glen. I would love to meet up with any fellow members when they come through. There are hotels/motels up here by I-90 which is most likely the way you will be coming in... Many people drive HWY 20 from Buffalo, but trust me 90 is the fastest route. It would be a bit more of a drive to the track but you would have better luck getting a room. There is a Microtel in Waterloo/Seneca Falls right off 90.

I lived in Buffalo for 4 years... September is a nice time to be in the area and I think that you'll find the finger lakes region to be absolutely beautiful. Let me know when you're in the area I'd love to do lunch or dinner or even a beer. My wife's entire family lives just south of Buffalo so I wouldn't shy away from a trip out that way.
