I've never been able to drive my 240z yet since i got it, because its always been "in peices". So i dont really know how fast it is. I want to know everyones most crazy kill storys but, heres the thing, your car has to have the L24 engine. Please include any mods you have done if any. Just trying to get an idea about how quick a 240 really is and what it is capable of. Sanks

I guess I can't tell about the time I had my '78 280z to 115 mph and accelerating then realized I had no steering because of the front end lifting up due to the aerodynamics of the car. Oh well. :(

that must have been pretty scary.

Nah, not really, just had to let off the gas a little. I could see for miles so I was able to see if a farm tractor was going to pull out onto the road in front of me.

I was a little disappointed though. I felt like I could get another 15-20 mph more out of it based on the amount of throttle I had left.

Did you have any arodynamic things? wings or front body kits or anything? that would have helped a tad right? Was urs lowered or anything like that?

No. It was a completely stock 1978 280z. I worked at the time with a guy who had a '70 240z with the 'spook' chin spoiler and he told me he had a similar experience after he took the spook off. He said he was going to put it back on soon! LOL

Whats with the obsession with L24 dude? There is a very good reason why the vast majority of people interested in performance upgrade to the L28. There is almost no downside to them. If you can't afford to or don't want to, then don't expect your car to be fast.

Don't have any good kill stories with the Z.... but here's one

I was at a stoplight, minding my own business when a civic with a fart can lines up next to me. I think nothing of it, until he starts revving the wizz out of his D16 block (Oh no, sohc non vtec power!). I quivered in fear.

Light turns green, I slipdrop the clutch, front wheel lifts in the air ever so softly, touches down, I hit redline at 13k, shift into 2nd, and let off the gas around 8

He's buslengths behind me. Why people try to race motorcycles, I don't know.
