Don't have any good kill stories with the Z.... but here's one

I was at a stoplight, minding my own business when a civic with a fart can lines up next to me. I think nothing of it, until he starts revving the wizz out of his D16 block (Oh no, sohc non vtec power!). I quivered in fear.

Light turns green, I slipdrop the clutch, front wheel lifts in the air ever so softly, touches down, I hit redline at 13k, shift into 2nd, and let off the gas around 8

He's buslengths behind me. Why people try to race motorcycles, I don't know.

Thats funny. Yeah ricers are my favorite. I can take them in my stock 300e. THey must have been just stupid to even approach the bike.

I don't have any overly good kill stores with my turbo L28, but as the body looks like a big piece of crap, its been underestimated a few times. I like approaching it via stealth. Each driver notes the other as they pull up at the lights, no more looks pass after that, then when they go green you take off at a moderate speed ensuring that your car is slightly in front of theirs or at the least, even with. Normally just after the other side of the traffic lights the game is on and the turbo/engine have had a chance to come up to speed and you can nail it. :) I've disposed of a few new Pontiac GTOs (read: Holden Monaro SS) in this fashion.

They don't like getting beaten by a 30yo datsun with crappy paint.

:D

Yeah i know what u mean. U know what i really hate? THe old vw bugs. I underestimate those ugly things everytime. They are hidious then u find out hes pretty much made that VW engine a Porasche. And u get killed by this bucket full of rust. DAmn i hate that.

My Scout is good for scaring ricers. Big 4x4, Shiny paint loud stereo, quiet exhaust, aerodynamics of a house brick. But nail it and it keeps pretty even with a lots of small hatchbacks. Loses to anything with real go though.

I don't have a kill story per se, but at my last autoX event a guy that was watching from his factory window drove over while I was packing up to check out my car. He was something right out of the 70's, driving a plain white Ford econoline and saying things like:

"your car is baaaaad!"

"I bet you could be a 5-0 Mustang easy!"

"Let me shake your hand"

"Baby, that engine is CLEAN!"

I guess the cars on his side of the railroad tracks are much different (as in not as nice).

thx

civics should not exist on this planet... they should just be sent to the crusher or melted down so i can use there metal for my floor pans. :devious:

Lets see one of your car race against my friends 320hp @ the wheel(8lbs) GSR Turbo Civic(EG6). Totally a street driven car. The car is capable of hp around the 600hp(Inline 4 for crying out loud) because it was built for 30lbs of boost. Civics and integra should definately not be underestimated... especially in Cali. I'm going to be putting in a 83 L28ET in my 73 Z and i'm expecting to be one of the slower guy behind em civics.

I actually don't like the whole "kill story street racer deal" maybe it makes me think to much about what all can go wrong on the street, but it's late and I'm bored so... probably the "kill" I remember most was against a 98 Ram Air Firebird with intake/cam/headers/exhaust, belonged to an older gentleman at work, he had heard some friends talking about my car (I had just finished the current T-4 set up) and he approached me talking about a race, long story short, he lost, 3 runs, 2 from a dig and one from a 30 roll, I was actually pretty nervous, as I could just see myself going to jail, plus his car sounded MEAN, he was ribbed pretty mercilessly at work and sold the car shortly after... I also had a very good race once with a Mustang Cobra, late 90's model, looking back it was an extremely stupid thing to do, was on a fairly busy street in Houston (although it was pretty late at night) we raced from a light and I had put about 2 car lengths on him by 120mph, like I said, insanely stupid. the guy driving flagged me down after the race because "I've just got to see what you've done to that old Z car."

even better kill story was at HRP (drag strip) I ran a late model corvette, I had huge traction troubles until the top of third gear, so the Vette killed me off the line, when the tires quit spinning I passed him at about the 1000' mark, I have it on video, a friend was filming in the stands, and you can hear the crowd kind of go "whoa" when my car finally hooks, and I go scooting by him, it's pretty funny
