beandip Posted July 27, 2005 Share #2 Posted July 27, 2005 I just bought a 750lb stand and was wondering if it is going to hold an L28 engine. ThanksThe stand is a little light but should work ok the engine is about 500 lbs plus or minus dipending what is bolted to it. I would have gone for a 1000 lb stand , this is what I have . If yours has wheels be vary careful when you try and roll it , the smaller stands tend to be narrow and will tip easily. Be sure to use hardened bolts , espeially if you mount the engine on the bell housing. 78 280zcar Posted July 27, 2005 Author Share #3 Posted July 27, 2005 Thanks for the reply, yeah I just went and bought a hoist and stand from kragen and it was a set for 129.99, but didnt find out that it was a stand with only one leg and no extensions coming off the leg for support until after I bought it  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/16683-weight-of-l28-engine/#findComment-132188 Share on other sites
