Z Excellence Posted July 26, 2005 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2005 I recently did a full brake job on my 76 280Z and also put on those braided stainless steel brake lines from MSA. The brakes seem to work just fine but when the car is on an incline the brake light comes on and remains on for 5 or 10 miles then goes off. I've definately ruled out the switch on the emergency brake handle as being the cause. No leaks and the fluid in the reservoir is topped off. I see there is a brake light warning light switch with 4 brake lines running from it under the hood but Nissan doesn't carry them any longer. Is that switch interchangable with other year Z's.Any ideas on how to tell if that switch has gone bad and how to check a used switch I may have to get from a junkyard.Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
