"the book" doesnt explain this procedure, since the "L" series came with a mechanical pump. help me! also, does anyone know any "do's and dont's" for swapping a L28(carb'd) into a 240z chassis? i know the basics,but every swap is different. any info will be helpful. ezzzzzzz Posted August 22, 2005 Share #3 Posted August 22, 2005 Just disconnect the 12v to the pump (fuse, connector, etc.). Start the engine and let it idle until it dies. This appies to EFI where pressures are hovering around 50 psi. If we're talking about 4 psi (carbs) then just open the fuel line...a little spillage at best. Who even worries about releasing the fuel pressure on a carbed car. If I 'dont know read very well or something....' as you so eloquently put it, maybe you need to write more clearly and then you wouldn't have to come up with such a response. With the exception of the fuel pump the 280 head will have the port blocked off for the mechanical pump so you will need to go with the electric. Otherwise, if you'd have to use your own wiring.
