Wow guys, thanks for all your great advice..........this weekend i will be replacing those fusible links. Where can i purchase them, do you think they will carry them at advanced auto parts, or will i have to go through a Nissan dealership. Otherwise i will order them online.

I am located in Fort Hood, TX. if anyone would want to help, that would be great.

Thanks again guys! :classic:

You might try the following url(s):

Located in texas, but not sure how near they are to your location.

or MSA at the following url:

That wire at the ignition switch, see if you can trace it back to the lock mechanism. If it goes into a little "box" on the side of the lock, then it's the wire to tell the buzzer that the key is in when the driver's door is open.

Courtesy Nissan has always treated me right. I'd for sure check them out. They are located in Richardson texas. e-mail them sales@courtesyparts.com and tell them you have a 1976 Datsun 280Z and want a quote on new fusible links.

If your looking at trying to actually start the car and run the motor, then the first thing you need to do is get that wiring straightened out that the previous owner hacked to hell or else it still won't run.

good luck.
