Victor Laury Posted September 16, 2005 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2005 I've been following this thread on the club4ag.com site for a while. I think it may interest a few of you hard core JDM old school (original f'n school) fans.http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=117456Whatta ya think. Will it get off the ground? If they did make them, would anyone buy them? How about my question. Would reproducing them lessen their legendary status? dat260 Posted September 16, 2005 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2005 Hi VictorI too browes that site often for wheels, I came close to buying Hoshinos Impul G5's from BTune but the size and price made me hesitate. Regarding this sakura venture, I do not understand when he says "could get different offsets but the lip won't change", don't they both work in relation? The greater the negative offset the bigger lip? Is the Sakura design the one that looks like a flower?Cheers, Ari Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17283-the-infamous-sakura-wheels-to-be-reproduced/#findComment-138352 Share on other sites
Victor Laury Posted September 16, 2005 Author Share #3 Posted September 16, 2005 Yes. "Sakura" means "Cherry Blossom" a significant japanese iconic image. They are truely Cherry blossom shaped, and were pink in color. However, It looks to me that they aren't keeping that color. Brouse through Japanese S30 web sites and you'll find photos of these wheels on Z cars. They are rare and much saught after there. Pennyman Posted September 17, 2005 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2005 Those wheels are too JDM for my 280z. They are beautiful though. Reproducing those would be a crime. Keep em rare. CoastGuardZ Posted September 17, 2005 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2005 Love the Sakuras! I will keep abreast of this and possibly consider going with them instead of Panasports. The Panas may be popular but they look so damn good on a Z. Sakuras would definettly look good too, but I couldn't go with pink on an orange car  Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17283-the-infamous-sakura-wheels-to-be-reproduced/#findComment-138423 Share on other sites
boostedz Posted September 18, 2005 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2005 Sakuras are really great looking on a Z, and who says that you have to keep the pink center, you could always paint it to your choice.Another wheel I always found that looked good on the Z from Japan were the long champs, they were really nice, as well as the Hoshinos, very sweet classic style looking wheelsWorks has a set of wheels that look like the Hoshino Impul G5's they are here.http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/eq-02/eq-02.htmlPlaces to check for JDM wheels that you might like are herehttp://www.takumiproject.com/http://wheelchoice.com/wheel01.htmhttp://www.ggarageusa.com/alta/Index3.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17283-the-infamous-sakura-wheels-to-be-reproduced/#findComment-138498 Share on other sites
