Carl, I received my set of springs today. They look good and have the paint dabs. I'm very happy because I'm only a couple of minor parts away from my suspension overhaul. I will probably get started in a couple of weeks. New springs, KYB GR-2 strut cartridges, Energy Suspension bushings, Suspension Techniques front/rear sway bar kit and KYB bump stops. I plan to clean and paint the reusable parts. It'll be a lot of work waaayyy overdue. I expect to experience a night and day difference in ride. :love:Just noticed I'm repeating myself. :nervous:

I would like everyone who gets the OEM spec springs from Courtesy to give feedback after you get to ride on them. Carl, you could probably tell us how close they are to stock.

Carl, you could probably tell us how close they are to stock.

"How Close"?? They are a couple ten thousandths difference in wire diameter, due to useing US vs Metric measurements... and are exactly the same in terms of free length, installed height and spring rate.

Bryan and I both sent sets of original springs to assure exact reproductions could be made.

I received my sets yesterday as well - and I couldn't be happier with them.

FWIW,

Carl

Carl, what I meant was that you can tell how close they are to RIDING like the originals. Very few of us have any idea what a new 240Z rides like. :)

I'm thinking of buying a set of the Euro springs when they come out, just to have a set......just in case.

Yep like the guys said the 70 series tires, new oem replacement type struts(and bumpers) for sure, new stock springs would be a good idea too. I would be interested in how different the zx springs are to the 240's like how hard would it be to convert to them? is it just a matter of changing or moving the spring perch? ive never looked under a zx , ive got no idea.

I've got a 81 zx as well. Its a LOT different. Much bigger diameter coils. And the back is not mcpherson so its about like wanting to put Buick (since everybody likes Buicks) springs on a 240.

Carls recommendation is good. I'll probably go just the shock and bushings first. Probably shortsighted but there's a chance I'll have to punt and sell the whole thing due to my nasty L5S1 problems. As a matter of fact I can't tolerate a new 350 either, again like Carl mentioned life's wear and tear and mistakes with surgeons knives just add up.
