Pennyman Posted September 22, 2005 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2005 I bet the rears rub the fenders, huh? What size are those rims and what size rubber you got on them? BTW this site needs a wheel/tire fitment sticky. If I was going to get a similer size but didn't want the overfenders, what size/lip/offset would you recommend? I will never buy a pair of wheels unless they've got "the lip" hehe. S30TRBO Posted September 22, 2005 Author Share #6 Posted September 22, 2005 I bet the rears rub the fenders, huh? They don't rub but I will raise the rear an inch just to compensate when under full compression. My lips have been rolled too. What size are those rims and what size rubber you got on them?16x8.5 -6 225/5016x9.5 -19 245/45If I was going to get a similer size but didn't want the overfenders, what size/lip/offset would you recommend?7-8.5jj front8-8.5jj rearIt depends on if you want a staggard look or the same size all around. dogma420 Posted September 22, 2005 Share #7 Posted September 22, 2005 so 240tt you don't need overfenders or you do? You say they don't rub with the lip bent, but then say a reduced size so you don't need the ZG flares...let me know, I really like the look of those wheels....if I had to, I would put the ZG flares on the rear, but leave the front without them...I think that would look pretty good (ala old Bronco)...by the way, those wheels fit the wheel well perfectly...is that stock suspension height?Time to save $2500! Beautiful, awesome wheels look man!!! careful where you park it!!!! S30TRBO Posted September 22, 2005 Author Share #8 Posted September 22, 2005 so 240tt you don't need overfenders or you do? I will probably put them on when I get her painted I wouldn't want any road grime kicking up on the rear quarters and messing the paint up. You say they don't rub with the lip bent, but then say a reduced size so you don't need the ZG flares... The reduced size will allow the rears to sit flush and will not stick outside the fenders edge. I have the fender lips rolled flush so that helps out. I am trying to avoid cutting my pristine fenders if at all possible. I should be fine. Here is a picture of daddz 16x7 225/50 16x8 245/45 Epsilions on my 240Z as you can tell they fit perfectly. NOTE: This only works on coilovers where the stock spring perch has been replaced with a smaller G/C perch. I am not sure but I think the max wheel width you can run with stock suspension is a 7jj 0 offset. I would put the ZG flares on the rear, but leave the front without them...I think that would look pretty good (ala old Bronco)... IMHO if you flare a Z, flare all 4 corners, it just wouldn't look right. The only thing that looks good with rear flares only is a Hakosuka Skyline. is that stock suspension height? No, G/C Coilovers. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17358-all-watanabes-mountednew-pics-inside/#findComment-139107 Share on other sites
Collectindust24 Posted September 23, 2005 Share #9 Posted September 23, 2005 I think I hate you. The wheels look awsome. I just can't swing that kind of coin. Oh, your paint job makes mine look okay (well, not really!) Mr Camouflage Posted September 23, 2005 Share #10 Posted September 23, 2005 So are you going to cut the rear guards for clearance? If you arent, is there any problems with they tyres rubbing on the wheel arch? S30TRBO Posted September 23, 2005 Author Share #11 Posted September 23, 2005 So are you going to cut the rear guards for clearance? If you arent, is there any problems with they tyres rubbing on the wheel arch? No, I don't think I will have to, by raising the rear an inch or so I should be fine. Wheel arches have been rolled flat, no rubbing. sakijo Posted September 23, 2005 Share #12 Posted September 23, 2005 Watanabes can be had for pretty cheap in Japan, though not inthe condition of 240Ztt's wheels. He's got it all . . . Watanabe rims, caps, and lug nuts. My concern is that the tires are a bit too small for the rims - looks like sidewall bulge to me. Whatever! Great look and great car. I need Watanabe caps and lug nuts for my car . . . .
