2003z Posted November 3, 2005 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2005 Although these planes are landing at their maximum crosswind in the worst possible way, its not how I try to do it! (<-airline pilot), but cool to watch!http://www.metacafe.com/watch/39256/crosswinds/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17855-crosswind-anyone/ Share on other sites
EScanlon Posted November 3, 2005 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2005 If anyone has videos of a B-52 Bomber plane coming in with cross-wind, you would be able to see that that plane can CRAB it's landing gear and continue down the run-way at an angle.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17855-crosswind-anyone/#findComment-144286 Share on other sites

It only flys with trim tabs. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17855-crosswind-anyone/#findComment-144289 Share on other sites
=Enigma= Posted November 3, 2005 Share #4 Posted November 3, 2005 I once saw a video of a 747 landing at Japan's Kansia Int'l Airport doing just this with a full load of passnegers. That's gotta be pretty scary but the larger planes are designed to handle it. Serious skill involvered there to be able to hold the center line while crabbing it. Thanks for the vid.
