zguitar71 Posted January 5, 2006 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2006 O.K. I am not tring to start a disscusion on global warming or anything so please do not respond in that way. But, it is 45 degrese here in Missoula Montana today (way above normal), and has been warm for the last 2 weeks. So now the snow has melted and the streets are dry and the Z has the insurance reinstated. I took it out of storage today 2 months early and had a blast. It took a while to get the motor and tires warm but when it all fell in place I got a smile on my face of unusual proportions. I am sure it will get cold again and snow more but I think our usual snow pac and ice cloged streets for 3+ months is not going to happen this year like it has not in the past few years. Not so great for the winter lover in me but fantastic for the Z lover in me. Just thought I would post a thread about gettin' the Z out for a spin. Gav240z Posted January 5, 2006 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2006 We have had the exact opposite here in Melbourne Australia. On New years day it was 43 Degrees Centigrade. That's 109.4 C Fahrenheit. It was too unbearable for a drive in the Z though the air felt so hot it was like a heater was on your back. I must say though I have been able to take the Z out for a spin more often. Wish we got snow here in Melbourne.. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18470-global-warmin-montana-and-a-240z/#findComment-151095 Share on other sites

Inf Posted January 5, 2006 Share #4 Posted January 5, 2006 Down here in Austin it's been ridiculously hot over the past few weeks (for January here). The 10 day forecast says we will have highs in the mid 70s and 80s for the next 10 days still. I haven't had to wear a jacket in several weeks. I think it'll be a horrible spring and summer for insects this year. Go240Zags Posted January 5, 2006 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2006 Here at 49 Degrees North in NCW (North Central Washington) we had an unusually cold spell followed by warm whether in the 30’s and 40’s Fahrenheit. Now it's starting to get a bit nippy again. Kind of a nice winter though because I can still see snow at the top of the foothills and the North Cascades are up to about 85% of average already. It may mean we don’t have to hear dire predictions about drought this summer. If there is no Global Warming we certainly have been going thru a warm cycle in the past 5-10 years. The last real good snow year we had was 1996 – then we got to deal with flood warnings. Victor Laury Posted January 5, 2006 Share #6 Posted January 5, 2006 I had to wear my sweater last week in Los Angeles. it's normally cooler this time of year than it is this year. We did have a major storm blow through last week, but I'm still on my hill (insha Allah!). kenz240z Posted January 6, 2006 Share #7 Posted January 6, 2006 It's been in the 50's and 60's here in Colorado. Weatherman says it will be 67 tomorrow in Denver. ChrisA Posted January 16, 2006 Share #9 Posted January 16, 2006 Check this out from yesterday. It was warmer in Nebraska than all of California, Florida and Arizona. Weird, I actually like snow yet I grilled steaks and had beer on the patio last night! By noon yesterday it was 60. I suppose I'll get a monster blizzard before spring but oh well. The high temp where I'm at was 38 degrees above normal! Cool!! FWIW, Chris A. jmortensen Posted January 16, 2006 Share #12 Posted January 16, 2006 I'd be curious to see what you think nightowlZ, but I swear last year was friggin cold all the way through. It didn't even warm up here until late May early June. I don't think the warmest day of summer last year topped 85º, then it got really cold again around Halloween. We did have a little "heat wave" there a couple weeks ago where we saw 60º for a couple days, now it's back to cold as a witch's titty! Definitely the coldest year I've spent in Seattle...
