Hrududu Posted January 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2006 Hooray! I finally got the front of the engine off tonight. All I have to do now is reset the timing and put the whole thing back together. As some may remember, I set out on October 31st to change out my head gasket. In the process I forget to wedge the timing chain and sprung the tensioner. I haven't any mechanical skill or workspace to speak of, so I'd say 85% of the knowledge I obtained came from you guys here at this site. The rest came from my neighbor and a Haynes manual. I'd like to take this time to thank everyone who gave me advice during this project. I could not have done it without your know how. I'll probably have some questions as I get to putting it all back, but I think I'll be okay for the most part. I have really missed driving this car and can't wait to get it back on the road.Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18582-i-win/ Share on other sites
a7dz Posted January 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2006 Chris;Remember ask first then act. Always easier that way. BTW you are not the first or the last that has dropped the chain. Pir0San Posted January 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2006 Chris, remember that long post I wrote about how to change that all out? Well, that's because I've dropped my chain too many times to count! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18582-i-win/#findComment-152337 Share on other sites
