Arne Posted January 25, 2006 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2006 Man! That's the cleanest Patrol I've seen in decades! There's one rotting in a field about 20 miles from here, but my wife won't let me stop and talk to them about it. sblake01 Posted January 25, 2006 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2006 Here's a cleaner one. This one was at the Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach. An original engine and trans for one of those might be tough to find. ncz Posted January 25, 2006 Share #4 Posted January 25, 2006 What kind of engine did they have? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18671-patrol-on-ebay/#findComment-153403 Share on other sites
sblake01 Posted January 25, 2006 Share #5 Posted January 25, 2006 They had a pushrod type, OHV 6 cylinder known as the "P" engine. Just under 4 litre (3956cc), 145hp, 7.5 comp, long stroke, basically a 'torque' motor. ncz Posted January 25, 2006 Share #6 Posted January 25, 2006 Thanks Stephen, your right, you might never find that again! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18671-patrol-on-ebay/#findComment-153405 Share on other sites
Mr Camouflage Posted January 25, 2006 Share #7 Posted January 25, 2006 Buy it for the body. put a L28 in it. or a V8, or a Jeep engine.......I wonder why they pulled the engine in the first place? Fun_in_my_z Posted January 25, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted January 25, 2006 I would put a sbc in with a five speed a bigger wheels/tires. If it had the engine and trans she would be restored as close to original as i could get. Arne Posted January 25, 2006 Share #9 Posted January 25, 2006 A pushrod Chevy six would be right in character. At 250 cubic inches it comes to 4.1 liters. Cheap parts, too. ChrisA Posted January 25, 2006 Share #11 Posted January 25, 2006 Hey Guys,If any of you are serious about a Patrol, there is one near me for sale. Its a late 60's. It has its original drivetrain but has some wiring mods in the cab and under the hood. I looked at it last month. Not too rusty on the body. Not original paint, now red. Bigger tires and wheels (black rims). I can get some pictures if anybody is SERIOUSLY interested as its a bit of a drive to go see it. Chris A.
