Jackhammer Posted January 30, 2006 Share #13 Posted January 30, 2006 OK, I'll bite. You don't really think I have all three and changed them out for the picture do you? This was a simple Photochop job..[/quoteNo...Don't bite to hard. I was kidding. It does look real though. Go240Zags Posted January 30, 2006 Share #15 Posted January 30, 2006 I like the slots as well, but maybe in 15" like are now available, I think if the libras came in 15 I'd consider a switch. Right now I have Panasports sitting in boxes waiting for the day that my car isn't an embarassment and can go on. =Enigma= Posted January 30, 2006 Author Share #16 Posted January 30, 2006 One of the reasons I am considering different wheels is due to the fact that I would eventually like to upgrade the brakes and my options are somewhat limited with the 14's, as well as the fact they are only 6" wide. Anyway, I've got some other things to do in the meatime. Victor Laury Posted January 30, 2006 Share #17 Posted January 30, 2006 The ZXT "Snowflakes" are 15 X 6 @ +12 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18702-wheel-comparison/?page=2#findComment-153967 Share on other sites
=Enigma= Posted January 31, 2006 Author Share #18 Posted January 31, 2006 I was trying to figure out what those were called.. Any idea if I would be able to fit either of the Toyota caliper upgrades inside the ZXT snowflakes? The more I look at them the more I like them. speedyblue Posted January 31, 2006 Share #19 Posted January 31, 2006 Remember that any +12 offset mags won't fill the guards out as nicely. Even with 235's on there it still sits in. Plus the 14 inch tyres aren't as available anymore. (Well around her anyway)My 280zx 6spokes sit pretty close to the stock brake calipers, so I don't know how they would go after an upgrade. The Jellybeans look good, but they will always look dated on the car, especially in 14 inch. Victor Laury Posted January 31, 2006 Share #21 Posted January 31, 2006 Eric of ZcarParts lists the ZXT Snowflake at 0 offset,http://www.zparts.com/ads/wheels/ads/wfs-56.htmlBut that cannot be correct. He lists the Back spacing at 101 mmDo the math - a 6'' rim is 7 inches across or 178mmDivide that in half to get the rim center 89mmSubtract 89mm from 101mm to find a +12 offsetWhoa! 17.8 lbs apeice! Not on my Zcar! Wouldn't ya rather have some nice 10 lb Volk TE37's 15X7@0? A second morgage and your sure to clear those calipers. =Enigma= Posted January 31, 2006 Author Share #22 Posted January 31, 2006 I have 4 goals. 1)find something different that not everybody has, 2)move to 15"s so I have more tires to choose from, 3)fit some bigger tires in there, and 4)allow enough room to fit one of the 3 versions of the Toyota caliper brake mod. I believe'81 280zxt wheels will allow me to accomplish #1&2. I'm not so sure about #3&4. Yeah, I guess they are a bit heavy but I really like them. Until I find something I like better or these won't help me meet my goals, they are the ones I'm after for now. Ok, go ahead and talk me out of it. Arne Posted January 31, 2006 Share #23 Posted January 31, 2006 If the snowflakes are only 6" wide, that's not wide enough for much tire. Maybe 205/60-15 at most. That doesn't sound like it meets number 3 to me. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18702-wheel-comparison/?page=2#findComment-154142 Share on other sites
bpilati Posted January 31, 2006 Share #24 Posted January 31, 2006 I have 14x7 slots with the wrong offset and I get wheel rub on the fenders. If the original offset is .59" on a 175R14 tire, what would it be on a 15x6.5 wheel?
