Arne Posted January 29, 2006 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2006 L24 = 2.4 liter, used in Z cars through 1973.L26 = 2.6 liter, used in 260Z (1974 in US, 1974 through 1978? in the rest of the world).L28 = 2.8 liter, used in 280Z and ZX through 1983.L26 has the same bore as an L24, but the stroke of the L28. montoya_fan01 Posted January 29, 2006 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2006 Could some one please explain the difference between the two?:stupid: 240Z with L26.Arne is right, the difference is displacement. 240Z = L24 engine260Z = L26 engine280Z(X) = L28 engineSo................ a 240Z would not have come from Datsun (Nissan) with an L26 engine, thus your quote describes a car that does not have it's original engine. To some people that matters, to others it doesn't.
