lonetreesteve Posted February 9, 2006 Author Share #16 Posted February 9, 2006 Looks like the brown '72 sold for the very low Buy-it-Now price of $300.00. Out of all of them, that is the one I would have bought (too bad I don't have a place to put it..Albuquerque is just a little over 300 miles from Denver ). At the time of this posting the rest of the cars were all still available....which ones are you going to buy Robert? Besides the 2 Roadsters, the 2 Zs, the 280ZX, I also have an '89 325i, a 00 Z3, a Tacoma, and a CJ7.:paranoid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18800-two-240zs-in-the-desert-going-cheap/?page=2#findComment-155308 Share on other sites
lonetreesteve Posted February 11, 2006 Author Share #18 Posted February 11, 2006 Zfever, The white '73 that you were interested in is still available (at the time of this posting with 14 hours 20 minutes to go).....you can probably steal it for the minimum $300.00:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Snazzy-White-1973-Datsun-240z-Parts-Project-Car_W0QQitemZ8037361020QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18800-two-240zs-in-the-desert-going-cheap/?page=2#findComment-155565 Share on other sites
lonetreesteve Posted February 19, 2006 Author Share #19 Posted February 19, 2006 Looks like they relisted the '72 and now they also have a red '73 and a '76 2+2, all going very cheap & pretty much rust-free. When you include these 3 cars, they had a total of 8 Z-cars for sale. er34gtt2000jp Posted February 21, 2006 Share #20 Posted February 21, 2006 I just bought the brown one!!!Now all I have to do is make the road trip from Sacramento, CA to Albuquerque to pick it up.I guess the person who bought it before thought they could drive it away, but it needs too much work for that.It looks pretty straight from the photos and I hope it is as clean as the seller said it is in the rust department. Now I have to get rid my 78' 2+2 parts car and my 68' Plymouth Satellite so I don’t get hell from my wife! er34gtt2000jp Posted February 21, 2006 Share #22 Posted February 21, 2006 Hey Red-Eye,Thanks for the invite!I am thinking of making the trip on the 4th. You wouldn't happen to have and stock steelies with tires that hold air would ya?I was planning on just taking the ones off my 75' 280z and throwing them in the back of my Frontier if I can't find any in Pick n' Pull.Did you ever contact the seller? I have been talking with her for the last week or so and tried to buy the white 73’ but got sniped in the last 10 seconds. Would have got it for $300 if it weren’t for the sniper who has since re-listed the car on Ebay for like $500.Big bummer, but it looks like I was able to pick this one up for $250! RAZ1 Posted February 22, 2006 Share #23 Posted February 22, 2006 Lots of old Z's in NM. I was at the U-Pull-It last week getting all the sheetmetal, doors and bumpers off of a almost mint condition 72 240Z. This car had no rust, it looked waxed, the front bumper was perfect and the floorboards looked as new as the day it rolled off the assembly line. This car should have never been in the yard, but without a title they would not sell it whole. While I was there a guy walked up to me and asked if I was intrested in buying a early 240Z (70 or 71) for $500. I'm sure the guy would sell it for less. It's complete but not sure if it's rust free since I didn't look at it that closely. It was rough though. Good deals on old Z's come around here every few weeks. You just have to be on the lookout for them. lonetreesteve Posted February 22, 2006 Author Share #24 Posted February 22, 2006 ER,I'm glad that you were able to buy the brown one! I was hoping that one of the members would buy this 240 from these people. I think you got a heck of a deal on it. Once you get the car back to Sacramento, be sure to post some pics and tell us more about the car. Raz,That's good to know that there are a lot of 240's down there -sounds like NM is similar to AZ with the dry, hot weather and plenty of rust-free Zs, but a lot closer to Denver! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I would have loved to have bought one of the 240s available to restore, but I don't have room for another project at this time. By the way, the red '73 is still available and is only at $100.00 with just under 5 hours left at the time of this post:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-Datsun-240Z-Excellent-project-car-red-pink-color_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6783QQitemZ8039571233QQrdZ1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/18800-two-240zs-in-the-desert-going-cheap/?page=2#findComment-156853 Share on other sites
