biker Posted February 23, 2006 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2006 Went to the local track yesterday with a bunch of ricers and I would suggest my Z was the most photographed car on the day!! Opposition included R33's Supra's V8 Utes, WRX's and Evo'sOne bloke was even suprised to see that I had real chrome bumper barsIf the car was going alright i would have placed around 7th fastest out of 60with my usual track times. Running like a dog at the moment. Just have to solve the unknown problem. She might be old but it can go quick enough (when it wants to:sleepy: )PS A new trap for young playersWas coming onto the straight at the track revving high in 2nd gear trying to sort out a misfire issue, concentrating on the upshift, controlling the slide - up into 3rd then whammo! - fluid starts gushing out of the speedo and tacho! Brain says that there can't be 2 litres of fluid in gauges?? Brain then starts wondering what is burning? Brain advises driver (me) that legs are now experiencing burning sensation and brain advises that fluid is actually hot coolant pouring onto calf and shins of both legs. Brain takes control of car and pulls off track slamming on the brakes and throws me out of the car doing an irish jig. Heater hose under dash basically split in two and was a real wakeup call. Some minor 2nd degree burns to both legs - so overall not a good day - but least the ricers now know what steel looks like!!Biker Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/19001-photogenic-zed-at-ricer-meet/ Share on other sites
Alfadog Posted February 23, 2006 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2006 If you get a hold of any of the pictures, be sure to show us! Was this at Queensland Raceway? There's a "Nissan vs Honda" play tomorrow afternoon. The 60 positions are already filled (of new stuff) but I would have loved to see a Z on the track with them. If my car had a little more grunt I'd like to see how it goes. Just a little bit shameful at the moment! =Enigma= Posted February 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2006 That doesn't sound like much fun, but it sure makes for an entertaining mental image. I can almost see the look on your face when the gauges started spewing green fluid. What a mess that must be. Sorry about your troubles. I guess you know what you'll be doing for the weekend. biker Posted February 24, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted February 24, 2006 The meet is a private one - not organised through any club. However, it is well organised and yep it was at Qld Raceway during the week. They usually depatch some photos to everyone so as soon as they are up I will post.Been missing from the web for a while - planning my overseas trip and saving cash - off to Europe and the USRegardsBiker Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/19001-photogenic-zed-at-ricer-meet/#findComment-157073 Share on other sites
gnosez Posted February 24, 2006 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2006 Seems to me another good reason to keep your (as in personal) hose on the left side of the car. Bloody right hand drive vehicles....... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/19001-photogenic-zed-at-ricer-meet/#findComment-157081 Share on other sites
260DET Posted February 24, 2006 Share #6 Posted February 24, 2006 If you were a true enthusiast Biker, the trip money would be spent on the Zed But you must be keen to go to QR in this weather, bit hot for me and mine, maybe next month.
