andrewg3300 Posted June 10, 2006 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2006 Well i got a few pics. I am debating wether to fix the old one or buy a new one. I dont think it is too far from repair but a new(good used) one would be much more practical)and more money).i can do some body work but money is tight and everything like that so i think will attempt to beat and bog the old one. here are a few pics of my progress. i hope you enjoy. its not as hard as it looks but dirty as HELL. hls30.com Posted June 10, 2006 Share #3 Posted June 10, 2006 What a metal removal tool! Silly me, I spent $1100 on a plasma cutter when I could have just borrowed a goat!Sheet metal is more expensive than elbow grease, but your time is worth something, not to mention the cost of a gallon of bog...Since you have it free-sans any bites the goat took that will have to be replaced-it shouldn't be too hard. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/topic/20360-rear-panel-project-ahhhhhhhhhhh/#findComment-170614 Share on other sites
a7dz Posted June 10, 2006 Share #4 Posted June 10, 2006 Every time I start talking about what is my time worth I get the same message from the guys up here . "This is your hobby right?" Looks like you have the hard part done if the panel if off. Pound it out and see what you get. Been surprised by ones much worse then that one. Besides that one does not look that bad. Unless you have hidden some major damage some where. I would trade for that one over what i started with any day. andrewg3300 Posted June 11, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted June 11, 2006 Here are a few more pics of my progress. The first two are before, and the next two are after a little elbow grease, and beating and pulling ect.... It still needs a lot of work but I think I have a good start. Any suggestions are welcome. And what about the lead that molded the seem above the small window. does that need to go back with lead for added strength, or can I fiberglass the hell out of it? I hope I got these pics right.
