Arne,

The reason you weren't all that excited to show your british car was due to the fact you had a full time job just trying to keep the bodily fluids in the damn thing....... anyone who has ever owned one give us a silent amen.

Sorry, I can't buy that. Done right, an older MG is no less reliable than an old Datsun. I used my '67 MGB as my daily driver for 5 years post-restore. It didn't leak, and experienced zero electrical issues or failures during that period. It's all in how you build and maintain them, just like anything else.

Sorry, this is off-topic, but that comment punched one of my buttons. :D

I found the cars strewn all over the place disconcerting. Maybe you could charge 2 different fees, one for show/trophies and one for regular display. Either way, all of a specific model should be clumped together, regardless if they choose to be in the show or not. Bottom line is that every Datsun present should pay something, unless they want to park completely out of the area and walk.

I would like to see all the model cars together also. How do you plan for the late shows? There were at least five 240’s that were not sure we could even get there until late Friday night. We were all parked together on the side so, double edge sword. I agree that all should pay to get the expenses down for all that show up. Might want to look at putting a buck a head on those who are just looking at the cars. Could help defer the cost a bit and get the attendance up.

I did like seeing all the iron. Quite a cross section of Datsun cars,

Sure was nice to see the older sedans and wagons.

Just for conversation along the lines of being able to show the car . I and a few other Z drivers have been showing our Z at the Wednesday afternoon show at Portland International Raceway . Beaches the restaurant sponsors the show and charge $5.00 to enter. The proceeds go to the underprivileged kids . They have areas set aside for groups of cars , but mostly it is just park on the grass and show your car . So far this season the turnout is over 500 yes 500 cars being showed every week . There is live music and they serve food and drinks for a money maker. It goes every wed from 4:00 till dark and is a real great time being able to see all sorts of cars . It is like being at a HOT ROD show . Amazing , we are treated with respect with our little L-6s and people take pictures and ask questions just like for the full blown hot rods. Camby was like a 1/8 in size in comparison . This and many other shows that are going on out there every weekend but on a smaller scale than PIR , this is what you are up against for your Camby show. Trying to make the Canby show a elite showing , if you want a mass support and charge a big fee to compete with garage queens is going to fail in my opinion. I was talking to one Z car owner at the Canby show and he said he had a budget of 1K a month for his Z . How does anyone compete in the driver category with him. Another said he has 30,000 in each of his cars and if it started to shower he would call in a flatbed and have it hauled home. Sure , go ahead and charge $30.00 to show your cars . I will be at PIR having a great time meeting great people and enjoying the evenings . Let the flaming fly. My 2c Gary

Bruce, I was having a hard time with $30 dollar entry fee. I could see $150 if you had people on a waiting list for years and limited the entries to only 5000 (Hot August Nights), it'll never be that big.

I came in late sunday as a vender last year, and was desended upon by fulchures be for I could get unloaded. I didn't get my act together this year because I couldn't deside what to bring. I have losts of motors and trans and heads L-6 and L-4's, but I didn't know if they would bring a decent price. I would like some suggestions on what to bring. so I can plan early.

I printed off a copy of the entree sheet but gave it to someone thinking I could print off another one. I was too late.

I had 57 anglia in high school I hated that car I've been scared for life
