I already have my car that I have been looking for but its not a Z. Anyways is there any difference in length between the, 240, 260, or the 280? We know that the 2+2 are longer but we haven't read about the regular coupe.

240Z - Shortest of the three; no emissions on the motor if you get a 1970-1972

260Z - Made for half a year, slowest of the three.

280Z - Longest, but doesn't have the horsepower to weight like the 240Z, but its also a very nice car and easily able to get fast as hell.

2+2's are gross in my opinion. :finger:

The lengths of the early two seaters grew from about 162 inches to just shy of 174 inches, with the difference being made in the protrusion of the bumpers and their supports. If memory serves 70-72 were the same size, '73and early 74 were a bit longer because of bumper and bracket changes,and in '75 they gained close to a foot with the 5mph federal bumpers.

You may find a good car in your price range, but I would absolutley get an experienced member to check it out-and hopefully show you what to look for.

I was told of a car at a local car lot by a member, it was "reduced" to $5,900,

and was the covetted "bondo special" no panels had been spared, the interior was a combination of 78-71 parts, and under the hood was evidence of a serious smack to the front. Outside the car was a beautiful 10 footer, closer it was easy to see the headlight buckets were welded to the chassis because they would not allign to the hood and fenders any other way-I would guess that the first wash would have started the rust again, and unless it was kept out of the rain, it would be in a salvage yard within a year from falling bondo. Someone bought it, and I am hoping I am the first to find it in the junk yard-it had a few series one parts...but not $1000 worth-let alone $5900.

That price range is a little low for a car that will be a good daily driver. Most $2,500 240Z's have a nice amount of rust and other issues.:ermm:

I can handle a few of the mechanical issues,and what I can't my Teachers can help. Its just the rust, I haven't had any body work classes yet. And right now our buget just got cut, found out my younger brother is going to Iraq (Army) So we are using some of our money to go see him before his ships off.
