first my signal lever came off and i stuck it back in but it's not the same...ever since it fell off, my park lights stay on when i turn my headlights off and when my headlights are on my parklights go off...whenever the parklights are off my dash lights go out with them...it's really annoying cuz if i turn my car off and pull the key out the park lights are still on and i don't want to leave it cuz it'll kill the battery...i have to turn the light switch off and hold it really tight before the lights go off...after i switch off the lights i have to hang a little bag with something in it to hold down the lever...anyone know what could be wrong?

Sorry about your trouble. I suggest you very carefully remove the turn signal assembly and dive in with both thumbs. That is what I did and was lucky enough to discover the problem when my turn signal started tossing out the wrong commands. Go for it. That is the way to learn about these beasts. Oh,yes, disconnect the battery first. Cliff

Many times you will find that the contacts in the switch are bent, worn or dirty. Remove the switch from the steering shaft and inspect the contacts. The complete assembly can usually be taken apart if needed to clean/straighten out, but be extremely careful as there are small springs and ball bearings in there that are easy to lose and hard to figure out where they came from.

I may have a spare set of signal switches/light switch you can have if you can't get yours to work. What year is your car?

Yep, sounds like you broke it.ROFL

You CAN disassemble the switch almost in it's entirety, but you MUST be able to work with very small pieces. I'm referring to the tiny springs and contacts in the switch itself. If you have difficulty working with them, I would suggest you get a new switch.

:ermm: ...i got a stupid warning ticket cuz now my taillights, side markers, front signals, and dash lights don't work only my headlights, and climate control lights work work...my lights no longer stay on but they don't work...i have to fix this problem in 10 days or i get a $575CDN ticket!...well actually only if i get pulled over again then i get the ticket.....anyone wanna ship me a signal lever switch, and light switch?:)....i saw the light switch in the MSA catalog and it's like $91US!..and the signal switch and lever was only a little cheaper!...i can't afford that....is there a fuse for all the lights?

i couldn't find it...i looked at the fuse box under the cigarette lighter and only found a fuse for the headlights

There is a separate fuse for the Park, and taillights. It should be right under the two for the headlights on the right side of the fuse panel. I'd start there and check all the wiring for a short, or perhaps a loose or corroded connection in the fuse panel before pulling any switches.

I'm looking at a cover for a fuse panel off one of the cars, not sure which year it is, but the top two on the right are for the headlights, the next one down is the Park, Taillights, and the bottom one on the left should be the Brake lights. Also you could check the common fuse on the bottom right, not sure what all is connected into it, but never hurts to check it anyways.

If possible you could try to bypass the switch itself to see if that is the problem, not easy with all the wiring there.

Green/White wire is the common wire to the taillights, side markers.

Green/Blue is the common wire to the front turn and marker lights.

Try jumping them after the switch to a hot wire and see if they work. Hope that helps a little. Too late at night to read this wiring diagram anymore.:sleepy:
